I have come up with this list of PC parts for my upgrade!

I currently have:

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 ATX LGA1155
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4Gb) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Crucial M4 256GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 570 1.25GB Video Card
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 570 1.25GB Video Card
Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: be quiet! 750W Dark Power 9
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

I am going to sell most of this except the case the CPU-cooler and the optical drive to my mates and my mum (she needs a new PC for working at home).

I am going to buy:

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8Gb) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 780 3GB Video Card
Power Supply: Corsair 760W 80 PLUS Platinum

What are your thoughts on it?

what do you have currently?
what are you using the system for? productivity or gaming?

reason i ask is that for the cost involved, based on others, there isn't a "value"
moving to the haswell platform from sandy, unless you have deficiencies in either
productivity or gaming. honestly, i'd upgrade the GPU and call it done. it is a
bit better to switch from SB to IB, and again a little better from IB to haswell.

but others will hopefully chime in to help.

This is basically what everyone else will ask you OP.

I added my part list.

The only thing needing upgrading is the GTX570 and adding more ssds. sandybridge is still up to par with Ivy/Haswell.

Thats not what I´m asking I am selling my System to my mum anyway and I´ll wait till Nvidea´s 800 series insead of buying a 700 series! And I Have 2 GTX570 which is enough power for me at the moment.

Why not build her a lower end rig? You system is perfectly fine...

You already have the parts picked out for the newer build. So why not buy it already? Only thing i would change is drop down to a 750watt psu.

so its not really an upgrade.
its a new system platform with some older parts. got it.

still don't know what the intensions are for the build. RAM speed for gaming isn't
critical (8gb 1600 is fine). for productivity, that's a different story.

what we are advising is that having the newer haswell is fine for AMD crossovers and
older 775 socket users, but you are spending way too much for a small net gain.
mom needs a small FM/APU system for cheap and you need to sell the 560 SLI
and upgrade to late model GPU tech and a SSD for OS speed. and then when
NVidia or AMD have a neater technology you can upgrade. your 560SLI will have
no value when those come out and now you are paying more with less.
a new 560ti is $250USD, used almost $125USD three months from now maybe $75USD.
a GTX770 will have a better resale due to being newer and having logically better tech.

Yes, I typed 8 instad of 7 :) and If I sell my parts to my mum, she gets better parts for lower costs. I know the parts are a little bit overkill for a 2 Monitor homeoffice computer but I would last longer than some random 300€ computer.

Ok, but I asked in the forums 3 months ago wether I should buy a second 570 or sell the one I alredy had and I got told that buying a second one would be good for the next year.

If I sell both of my 570´s I would get roughly 400€ but I dont know where to sell them...

Also If I sell my parts to my mum, she gets better parts for lower costs. I know the parts are a little bit overkill for a 2 Monitor homeoffice computer but I would last longer than some random 300€ computer.

So I personally tend to selling my parts but not the 570´s buying new parts and waiting till 800 series launches and then buying a new graphics card.

Also I know that 16 Gb 2133 might be overkill for my purpose but I dont know what happens further that year so I want to be suited for what comes.

I am also doing video editing and some photoshop... Also i am bitchy when I can´t play games on ultra :)

update/
I could also sell my whole computer/ with or without graphics card to a fried of mine who really needs a new computer so he gets better components for lower cost and I buy me new things. His budget is also limited to 100€ but maybe we could stock it up to 1200 or something like that

Sorry, yes you are right selling those 750´s would be better, but where can I sell them, I don´t like ebay and I´m to young for amazon warheouse!

Stop posting consecutively. Use the edit button to add information.

Anyways, selling the 570s now and will let you spend very little on a 7970/770. Compared to the future when your selling both for what you can sell one for now.
