#1 definitely, I like Diablo's concept aswell with the orange stripe thing, maybe have the 3D in orange though? Unless you're going for something new

No 1 got my vote as it seems a more professional look than the others,which IMO belong more on a "Max Power" type of site.

I think number 5 works well because it keeps the original colour scheme which is, as you say, instantly recognisable. I assume you have been working on these new desigs for a while and is the theme of designs 2 - 5 the finished article ?

Yeah stripe colours is no problem to tweak. My only issue with #1 is that as soon as you take away the 'OC3D' text, the logo could be from anywhere. Ideally (imo anyway) if we're going to go for the slashes, they should be integrated into the text somehow, or be a bit more recognisable?

I don't know anything about making it recognizable, but what if you make the lashes through for example the o and the c? That way they'd be more 'integrated' into the logo.

Why would you take away the OC3D text? Every award type thing I've seen included the site name on it. It would only be for "best in class" type award because they use the chip, in which case you could just design new awards.

Of course I might just be being blond. It's not unknown for that to happen lol.

Well the real problem comes from manufacturers liking 'square' logo's. They fit nicely on packaging and websites and even when resized insanely small, still vaguely resemble the website logo.

I suppose we could try and get some square-ish awards designed which shouldn't be too bad, but watch this space as I've got our designer to churn out some new concepts based on the slash

Haha, I've actually been working on the design for a year now. Tweaking it to get it right and making it a fair bit more interactive.

Unfortunately my first born child caught a glimpse of it the other day, and I've been forced to lock her in her bedroom ever since. She will get out when the new site goes live though....oh in about 3 months.
