A Acid90 New member Jul 21, 2008 #1 Next month I am planning on upgrading my mobo to something which can hold overclocks better, looks good and can support crossfire. I've been looking at the DFI LanParty Dark DK X38-T2R. What can you guys recommend?

H Ham New member Jul 21, 2008 #2 I'd recommend chucking in the extra £10 and getting the X48 version. Simply because its only £10 so you may as well. Other than that fine choice.

Click to expand... Where can the X48 version be had? This mobo I chosen is £120, I am sure the X48 mobo is alot more. Got any links?

H Ham New member Jul 21, 2008 #6 Oh damit. I was looking at the LTs, not the DK. The only quible with the DK boards is 4 phase PWM really. Its a bit lacking for quads, but if your intending on using the 8200 in your sig it should be a good choice. Just don't be intimidated by the bios options .

A Acid90 New member Jul 21, 2008 #7 Haha, yeah I am not going quad until the new socket. Dual core until then! So it should be ok yeah? I think its a good price. My only worry is everywhere says the DFI boards only support upto 800mhz memory? Seems abit stupid. And are the overclocking options THAT advanced?

H Ham New member Jul 21, 2008 #8 DFI overclocking options are deep to say the least. But it's like anything, with a bit of time you'll get to know what does what with no hassle. 'Supports 800mhz' just means overclock me tbh .

A Acid90 New member Jul 21, 2008 #9 So do you think the DK is a good board, is there any alternatives around that price range?
H Ham New member Jul 21, 2008 #10 Alternative would be the IP35 Pro, which tbh is fantasticly stable. Or one of the P5Q range (-E or deluxe are in your price range). The dlx did well in the labs.
