Hi there!

Been an modder/overclocker since the early days of TRS-80's (arly eighties) which means I am lucky enough and old enough to have seen the personal computer revolution from the early days! I have even messed around in the early XT/AT days of changing the clock oscillator modules to squeeze the extra speed out of the early processors. I remember putting a heatsink on a 286 to get more speed out of it long before heatsinks were used on PC's

I only tend to mildly overclock my systems and usually end up putting them back to standard as I find that the gains are not that noticeable to make a real difference without compromising the overall stability and longevity of the system. Having said that, I run my Phenom II x555 black edition as a 3.2GHz/quad core and have had it running stably at 3.6GHz/quad core with stock cooler as tested using Prime 95. Does tend close to max temps though hence me dropping it back to 3.2GHz.

As I got some good info from the Razer Mamba review I thought I would join up and add my comments.

Thanks guys for a great site and hope to contribute some more.

Heyya fellas! Decided to pop in after using Tom's reviews as my research and component picking bible.. even though I can't really buy a 980x and do a 4-way GTX480 SLI

Hi, Just a word to say hello from Hong Kong. First came across the site about 10 months ago and have made it a point to visit a few times a week. Always like the site's no-nonsense approach though I'll admit I've never OC'd a thing in my life. I've just built a new rig, but that doesn't mean I'll stop looking in! Cheers

Steve
