Hey guys!

Just got my 990fxa-ud5, everything worked great (except psu 8pin=to short) and windows 7 not booting... Sofar I've tried system recovery, but that doesn't help.

Do I have any other option than reinstalling ?

what system did you change from?

your problem may come from a different mass storage controller driver. you may be able to restore a backup image (win7) using the drivers for your new motherboard.

but is it worth all the try&error?

another possible source of error: AHCI now enabled but disabled on old motherboard

there is a way to make windows 7 search for new mass storage controller drivers at startup...but i can't tell if this would work for AMD platforms, too.

just reinstall win7 :-).

You need to run repair for your win 7 install, go through the normal install, then select repair.

Changing your mobo acounts to more than a 80% hardware change and windows wont stand for that.

repair and re enter key

Edit: recovery will only recover, a repair will install drivers for new mobo hardware.
