Actually the CPU, mobo and PSU will be RMA'd since at this point it's unsure what caused the CPU to die.
If one of them (besides the CPU) works fine they will return it to me.
In the meantime i'm running full HD dual screen on a pentium 4 and a 440 gt lol
Not the fastest in the world but at least i can make myself usefull.

All this reminds me of when a brand new 1000 watt PSU suddenly exploded after a month or 2.

Yeah i know hehe, and i didnt even get in trouble for it.
Also, the repaired parts will get sent back to the office tomorrow so my friday afternoon might end up ending great. ^_^

Curious as to why you chose an X79 based system with so many budget parts? Wouldn't you have been better off going with Z77 or AMD and allocating money saved into other parts such as the GPU?

Well there's a few factors.
One is we needed the parts fast and at a pointed out shop with not all parts in stock.
Seccond is they run a 2007 version of autocad which doesnt require much GPU power really, since i can run it on a pentium 4 with a 440 gt in it decently.
Third is they get money back from tax return since they are a company so i could get fancy stuff but not to crazy.
Fourth is it had to be newer than what they had laying around but not the latst tech.
That's how i ended up with what i got now.

Nah this is how it will stay im afraid since the pc will have to go under the desk in those metal bracket things.
So because of that there is no point in making it look nice with braided cables imo.
I tried to convince my new boss with the nice looks of the case butche said "i want that thing under the table" lol
At least i got to work with this cm scout case in person now hehe.
One thing i will do is drill out the rivets from the front section of the drivecage to free the front air intake.
