Hello guys

I already have a build but my seagate failed on me and I'm basically planning to buy a new HDD of 2tb and an ssd.
Question is wich ssd should I go for ? I like a very fast ssd, good in performance and speed and reliability.
And for the HDD i need another brand I don't trust seagate anymore.
This one needs to be fast too and quiet and RELIABLE.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Crucial and Western Digital are the most reliable companies in their fields of SSDs and HDDs.

Although the Crucial read and write speeds are listed as lower than some others - that is in 1024k performance. windows only uses 4k and 8k - at which speeds, the M4 is one of the fastest drivers there is.
So yeh, get the Crucial :)

Well the ssd is not only for for the OS, I'll also put games on it for faster load times.
HDD will be mostly for documents, movies.

When I say windows, I mean Windows the OS and all programs installed to windows.

If the HDD is for documents and movies - I'd get the WD Caviar Green

Is an m4 better than samsung 830? Might I add I'm looking at SSD's at 400gb+ range. The ssd needs to be a good performer for games aswell not just OS.
As for hdd yeah its only for storage not really performance. I'll look into the greens.

The Samsungs are also a good option. The Crucial's are a little faster at the lower data speeds, but whichever is cheapest really.

Why 400gb+ exactly? I'd be very surprised if you had 400+ gb worth of programs

Just my opinion here, the only improvement in games that will come from an ssd is faster load times, for that reason I really don't see the point in spending so much money to get a 400gb ssd

Told you, os games and yes perhaps programs, i have alot of games.
Remember 15% of the ssd cant be used or it'll be slowed. I read it somewhere but pretty sure its possible.
Some game's I play are even 20+gb a game so.

I know it doesn't seem much but when you play games alot long loading screens tend to irritate me. Always waiting for nothing for example i want to sell my stuff, buy something, then load, go to another store and get into 2 more loading screens of long waiting just to sell some crap again, it can get annoying trust me.

+ in battlefield all the vehicles are taken by people that have ssd's, but thats for a few

There you have it lol. But thats not a reason i buy a ssd to be first in a match, its more for long sessions of playing with long loadings. Shorter loadings will help alot imo.

That 15% thing doesnt really matter anymore with the newer drives so ignore that completely.

I would be very surprised if you needed 400gb. I have a 128gb SSD myself, and have installed: Crysis, Crysis 2, Black ops, BF3 (+2 expansions), Tom Clancy GRFS and Assassins Creed Revelations - Along with windows and all my other programs too...
I'd be very very surprised if you needed more than a 256gb drive at the most.

Well I could do myself maybe a favor.. Going with a 200+gb ssd and if its getting full of games. I get a second one. Then I still have the ssd advantage have I?
