New (gaming/video edit) rig needed

Heya guys,

I'm new here from Team Aftershocks, gaming community.
I was hoping someone could help me getting a new good computer.

I'm looking for a new desktop, no screen, mouse or keyboard needed.
My budget is round €750,- that's around $975.
Currently I live in The Netherlands, so I hope to get the stuff I need here, we got some "good" companies who sell parts (Alternate, Azerty, etc.) so that won't be a problem.

I mostly play BF3 but also Assassins Creed III, Bioshock Infinite, etc.
So the newer games..

If you've got some advice for me, that would be cool
Also, I was wondering if someone has advice for me about just being a desktop from like.. HP, Acer, Alienware. I was looking into the Alienware X51 (or 51x.. idk really ) but I don't know what to do!?!

Definitely build your own.
Maybe wait till Haswell comes out however.

If you can't wait, roughly for that price you'd be looking at:
3570k
MSI Z77-G45
Probably a 7950/7870 Tahiti
Decent PSU

Then case/hard drives/SSDs of your choice.

Well the one I use now crashes about 4 times in 1 evening, so can't really do much on it :S

Is it possible for someone to give me a full set? or example of it?

Are you prepared to keep any parts from your current system? May save a bit to reuse the PSU/RAM/HDDs/Case? etc.

Well.. it's all kinda old, so don't really think I can use it, maybe some of the RAM.
But that's also about 4-5 years old now, maybe even more

I could try use some of the RAM I have now and the HDD, which is still good (1TB )

HDD: Reuse your own if possible

Then a case of your choice, or reuse what you have.

If you can save money by reusing parts, maybe think about putting in a better power supply, and maybe putting in a GTX 670 instead of the 7950, but I think you'll be pretty pressed by budget doing that.

Should hopefully be the end of this month / next month.

Modern stuff is pretty efficient, so you'll get away with the 430w. But as I've said, I would think about putting something better in if you can afford it.

well for editing them cuda cores on the 670 might come handy... and a 500W psu with decent electronic is enough.

edit: also you could buy a cheap non K i7, like Intel Xeon E3-1230V2(an ivy bridge i7 without igp but cheaper) for editing/streaming.just a suggestion

I would say get a 500-600 watt psu for this system. The extra wattage is just to be safe if down the road you add a second gpu or something along those lines. you will be happy that you got the better psu now rather down the line when your ready to make your upgrade.

If software supports OpenCL then a 7950 is the choice. If CUDA then 670.

But for gaming a 7950 will be faster and at least where i live is about 100$ less expensive then a 670. A psu of 600watts is what i would recommend if you plan on any OC'ing or very long run times.
