you will get full 1066mhz ram with a x4 940, and scan is one of the biggest resellers in the UK and i have purchased nearlly all my components from them

An this case maybe.

A380Plus Silver - Xclio A380Plus Tower Silver + Window & 25cm Front & 36cm Side Super Cooling Fans Screwless w/o PSU

£51 from scan

you got it for under £300 buttttttttt that powersupply is a crappy cheap brand which will most likely fail because of low effeciency and non quality parts

what PSU would you suggest? All the reviews say its ok, an for the price i did wonder why.

I may not get the case to be honest cos i would like to keep it under 300

goin out in a min. I'll e back on here l8r, if you reply to my PSU question then ill pick it up later.

Thanks for your time too, youve been a great help.

£300 !

U definitely want to stick with an AMD build ?

(nothing wrong with that, but u do have options with that much more cash)

I am sticking with AMD i think Intel are pants.

I think the PSU i mentioned earlier is quite a good one too to be honest, so for the price i think i'll give it a go and see what happens, the only thing i don't like the sounds of is the fact that it blows air into the case instead of out??? i find this to be quite strange as its usually the top rear part of the case which is the place to be pulling the air out of the case with the front bottom blowing in???

Different strokes i guess, but i think it looks liek a good one and the reviews ive read are really good.

Anyway im off to bed, thanks for all your advice, youve all been great.

Spk soon. :-)

If ur up to £300 and want to stick with AMD, there is a wealth of stuff out there that the guyz have already demonstrated.

It will be a great upgrade to what u have. Definitely a better option than spending cash just on a replacement cpu.

The old unit can be ur linux box, home server, or something :)

Nah m8 i really don't like INTEL at all, I've had nothing but badness from them and i won't ever go back to them.

Plus the intel mentioned is only duo core, whereas the one im getting is yea £149 compared to £55 but its far quicker and its quad core too.

I'm buying it with a bonus wage so its money for nowt.

The rest of the pc I can repent at leisure, (which i will money wise) I'll make it up and see what happens, I'll be getting it around the july 25th date.

Thanks for your input but i really don't like intel, I'll research a little more but i can't see myself being swayed, and for £55 I can't see it being very future proof to be honest.

Thanks again.

ok after much deliberation i have finally come to a decision, i want 4 gigs of cpu power and im going to leave it to you lot to decide what i should buy, do me right plz lads.

*Your quest* 4ghz for £300 o/c ed, let me know how to do the damage and ill rig the B***ch up. I dont need a GPU ive got one and i ve got a hdd too. CPU, MOBO, RAM, CASE. £300.
