new cooling needed new case

hi all,

my previous case which was built around the lubics kit, but it was to compact in design for my new cooling setup which would include 2 thermochill 120.3, to cool cpu, n/b, s/b and gpu.

so i had to strip down case, extend height and length to fit the rads, which were rather large!!.

so i ordered new ac ryan alu panels and mesh, dark perspex. some more lubic, EK blocks, D-TEk, 400 res fitted on DDC X-Res,Laing DDC Ultra,

also ordered 6 panaflow fans from the U.S. funny thing was that i had ordered other parts in the U.K. order from the U.S turned up first!!!

the fans are in turn connected up to zalman mfc1 plus controller.

went for masterclear tubing this time over previous 10mm tubing, found that the masterclear a lot easier to work with.

mounted h-discs on a noiseblocker x-swing, works really well.

leak testing all ok, pump i find to very quiet in comparison to my 2 c-systems mags.

thks,

a couple of night shots, front and top

psu panel finished and test fitted.

ocz memory cooler fitted.

in between the 2 rads, there is a length of plexi which i can see the res through it, i am going to either get some low key cathodes or punch a series of leds vertical to show the coolant level or go high tech and go for a mini lcd screen, mount in front of case to show system temps etc, had seen a commercial software and sensors which can show res levels/temps graphically, looked very cool, but probably costs more than the p.c.

but for now, i am modded out, happy that it all works:)

and also treated myself to a new Q6600.

hi, rather than post new thread, i will resurrect this one, easier to follow i think.

a couple of new additions, EVGA 780i m/board. EK 780i and 680i mosfet 1 blocks. D-tek support bracket.

i know 780i boards are not everyone flavour but i like the warranty/upgrade options.

the EK 780i block is like the rest, excellent.

on taken apart noticed some black residue in existing blocks, so had to give them a slight clean. asked the boss for the brasso and suprise there was none. happens to me quite alot when looking for something i need:rolleyes:. so roll on the tomato sauce, worked a treat. left for about 20mins.

a wee pic of the board stripped down and according to the boss tool shop in the kitchen

pics of board plumbed in. all running ok.

also found that when using zalman fan leads , they were a bit loose. so used some couple ties to tighten them up,works a lot better now.

i think next time i will put a fillport at the bottom of the case, make draining the loop a bit easier.

Are ya gonna put in coloured/UV fluid at some point? Everthing looks pretty decent, I always get complaints from the folks when I mess my room up workin on my rig, so no more of that hopefully i'm off to uni next year hehe. See your using Panaflows, better get some load speakers if you got the high-performance ones, heard they can make quite a racket but shift a tonne of air.

hi, thanks. loop does look a bit busy but seems to be working ok.

nope on the uv liquid, not that keen on it. maybe some low key lighting at bottom of the case.

the panaflows are excellent, only a gentle hum running them through a zalman controller.
