New Asus 965 ROG board

Oh dammit to hell...

DFI RD600 out soon, and now a re-spin of the 965 boards. Do these people think we're made of money?!

Indeed - looks mighy impressive - is this a precursor to Intel going 1333mhz FSB though?

If it is, how valid will this board be in the months to come?

I am becoming more and sceptical now about the 'who's and why's' of the world - a board like this only really leads us to other areas of development and the shelf life could be short term.

The point I want to make here is that if you already have a 965 board - what difference will this make in anything other than benchmarks? Real world applications and games will not benefit nearly as much I suspect.

Of course this will be officially quad core ready - but so what? There aren't many quad core enabled games or applications (outside of encoding that is).

OF course for those that have not made the switch to Intel Core2 technology this presents an exciting prospect indeed - the 965 chipset has already proven its quality when it comes to overclocking and stability - more reasons to make this your prime target purchase when switching platforms in the near future.

:)
