need video in and out

i have a xfx 7800 extreme but need video in and out to record off cable tv if poss any ideas

You're going to need a TV tuner card mate, your vid card won't do that for you unless you have something like an AIW.

Well a fair few of the new cards have Videa in Video Out but I don't think yours does

Even with a vid card that has VIVO you wouldn't be able to capture tv programming without first running the cable to a cable box which would hopefully support s-video out.

My Compro Videomate TV Gold was cheap and works like a dream (thanks to nicl for that hardware suggestion). Comes with a nice arse remote too.

any decent vcr can do that.

done it myself and connect this device to the scart and then its 3 cables that is needed.

1 for the image 2 for the sound.

Haha, We were cleaning out our storeroom today and actually found 3 vcrs and they are all pretty old as in BEFORE s-video. No clue if they work or not because we don't have anything to test them with.

ye but dont know if they make them with s-video but everyone i have seen for the last 7-8 years could easily be adapted to s-video.

and its a cheap way as they are cheap new and even cheaper as used merchandise.

some people does even throw them after you if you ask nicely

Anyway, yeh I had a Compro too, they're leet. I just sold it though, never used the thing. T'is a shame.
