I'm planning on watercooling my system, and have been looking at a 38mm thick 120mm radiator.

Do you think that is enough to cool an I7-3820 @ 4GHz and a stock GTX770, running with SP120 Quiets?

If the GPU is going to be running stock, just put the CPU on water and run the GPU on air.

Mate, a single 240 with SP120 Quiets probably will cool your system, but not very well. If i were you, I'd get 2x 240 or 1x 240 and 1x 360. That would give you better temps and more overclocking headroom.
