Need some advice on a new headset corsair 2100 maybe

if you had the 377's and liked them, either get them again or get a set of 380's or 780's

I use the 380's and I cant complain esp. at under £20 :lol: I have noticed that if you blast the volume with bass it rumbles, but you'd expect that...... the 780's used to be around the £45 mark.

I know you are sold on wireless but that adds cost compared to a wire headset, making them more expensive while on top of that sounding worse. Wired will always sound better and if quality/accurate sound is what you are after you may want to rethink your wants.

Plenty of wired options that are fanatasic, wireless on the other hand not as nearly as much.

now looking at sennheiser pc320. And the Logitech g430

I like the G430 so I'd go for that. Personally I still use my good ol' Plantronics 780 (which is more than half price from when i bought it ;_; though and I think they're deffo worth the price now and can trade blows with much more expensive headsets.

the ear cups on the g430 look more comfortable than the g930 also.

Well the sound quality on these G930's wireless are amazing I listen to music pretty much constant they sound great, Considering ive had two WIRED headset costing around £100 plus good brand is saying alot.

The G930's sound better than my wired ones so if you can explain that to me ??

well, a normal headset is improved by using a sound card, but how good is the sound card that they have engineered into the g930..
for eg, i put my xonar dg into exciter mode, and basiclly overclock my headset, i understand that ya cant do that on a wireless solution. but without having one here to do a side by side i have no way of actually knowing, the logical solution seems to be play safe and get a good wired headset, as i already have a reasonable sound card to power it, but a lot of people swear by these wireless ones...

i kinda have a problem with wireless tech, would never buy wireless keyboard or mouse..

but on that note up until 6 weeks ago i would never buy an iphone, but i thought what the heck, and got the 5s... and i have to admit, it is a really nice phone to use (coming from galaxy s3)

i have no idea what my missus is gonna order (no idea if she has ordered anything yet)

whatever it is do i need to o a 24 hour burn in?

Having never used surround headphones I can only go off my experience. And one of the things Linus and ttl I think said. How many ears have ya got? Well that is how many speakers ya need!!

ok, so the big day has come and gone, she got me some turtle beach xp 500 headphones... specifically designed for the xbox 360 and ps3... they connect using blutooth or the doodaa that plugs into the xbox controller. ya can plug a rca connection into em for the speakers, but not the mic... the guy in game said you can make em work with pc... soooo. they have been returned and we have ordered sennheiser pc320 and logitech g430, i will keep the ones i prefer and return the others.

but she did get me a nexus 7 2013... which was a rather nice surprise.

time for a comment from the random guy who joins the conversation late and ultimately misses the point and adds little or nothing to it ME

ok 1st off i know no one has mentioned them i bought "Genius Cavmanus Virtual 7.1 Channel mid April i want to say. (i was in a rush n desperate) and the 7.1 and "vibration bass" gimmicks tricked me! (i also didnt bother looking at anything else)
and these have been probably the most disappointing buy to do with pcs for me. poor audio quality a cable that twists it self up so tight in seconds of use a really stupidly positioned volume control.... tho i have now learnt how to turn my volume up or down by twisting my head super cheap feeling mic.... and very questionable choices about the implementation of the vibration feature (you cant set anywhere where this kicks in)

so iv been reading this post looking for replacement for my gaming headset iv hurd good things of the steelseries ones (mainly the siberia and 7h) have you guys had any experience with them?

7.1 channel basically just means it'll support a 7.1 surround system, as most headphones are 2.0 it's a little futile really "Virtual" in a headset basically means its faked surround. Usually a bit pants.

As for picking a headset, first things first..

A) Do you need a headset or headphones?
Headset includes a microphone, headphones are just the cans
B) Wireless or wired?
Just preference. Wired is usually cheaper, but cluttered. Wireless can have interference.
C) Open or closed?
Open will let sound leak out but usually sound better, closed will isolate the sounds inside the headphones so you can't hear outside as well, and people close to you won't get annoyed from leaked sounds.
D) Budget/price bracket?

You didn't actually tell me if you wanted a microphone or not, so I'll give you a bunch of options

With Microphone ~ NA. Get a proper microphone on a stand at this bracket.

Outside of my jurisdiction. Should be looking at sound card + amp combinations.

Yah ^ There's plenty of choices. Generally for the best sound fidelity you want to stick to brands like AT, Beyerdynamic, AKG, Sennheiser etc.

But you can really benefit with an amp or proper sound card so do more research before making your choice

yeh i love my Sennheiser hd215s (a little old but they are sooooo rugged had mine 4 years of very heavy use and only thing thats happend is a silver bezal has fallen off)
