hi, for the last 2-3 years i have been using my Plantronics GameCom 377 headset. it is held together with glue! but i still love the sound quality, i only paid £25 back in 2010 so it has been very good value, this morning my missus asked me what i want for christmas!! she was suposed to be getting me a k70 with blues, i dont know if she is winding me up but she says it aint gonna be here for weeks :( so now i am looking at maybe a corsair 2100 wireless set. currently about £110. some of the reviews say it buzzes a bit, if this is the case can any one suggest another very good quality set for similar money?

i have not considered wireless ones before, as i do have a xonar dg soundcard, however i am getting fed up with snagging my headphone cable on the arm of my chair.

so i think i want wireless

Can I suggest getting 'the Logitech G930 Wireless Gaming Headset' the sound on these are amazing the bass is just right not over powering, Ive had 3 Corsair 1500's and all of them I had to be RMA the build quality/Sound in general aren't that great in my opinion compared to over brands.

First Headsets -

Corsair 1500's costing me around £105 included BF3 that was a while ago

Then I bought another for around £85

Got the other one for free - RMA

Ive had 3 in total so they break really easily 2 of them the wire came out and the last one I had the right ear cup stopped working. All I can say that is positive is the mic is pretty decent but the actual sound which is the most important part really does lack.

Then went over to the 'Asus Vulcan Pro's the sound was pretty good way better than the Corsair 1500's and the mic was good aswell so couldn't complain.

About 3 weeks ago bought myself the Logitech G930's Wireless Gaming Headset omg I wish I bought these the sound is amazing mic is great new it already because mate had the headsets, I bought these for £125 their are some for £99 but amazon have some newer version or something so went with them don't mind paying the extra cash they were worth it.

I hope this will help you with your purchase just trying to help that's all

Curtis out.

Good luck and have a great Xmas mate! :)

just watched a review of the 930's on utube, in it he said that the fabric over the foam is plasticy and sweat inducing.. how have you found this?

They are alot louder than my Asus and Corsair's the bass is pretty good you can turn it up using the software, I listen to everything when playing I usually listen to Electric house its good you wont be disappointed trust me.

The battery lasts me the whole day also comes with a very long cable for charging and doesnt tangle at all. I charge mine over night so ive never had to charge it while gaming unless I forget to put it on charge of course.

I dont have a sound card but I always thought that because it's a USB it wont work with the sound card?? Am I going full retard because I have always though that if someone can elaborate on that would be amazing
Sorry changing the subject

good to know about the battery and bass, and no, a sound card wont help a usb headset at all, as the usb connection is purely digital and amplifies the sound itself, where as the sound card puts out an amplified analogue signal.

just need to wait and see if ma missus can order it in time for crimbo.

already got the 'cheap' one and the expensive one on screen , been trying to work out for the last 30 minutes what the difference is...

hahahaha I did the same XD I even talked to the guy on amazon he didnt really give me a clear answer but people are buying the newer version its down to you, I just went fak its a newer model so why not haha.

That comment actually made me laugh hehe

hehe. looking at the stats the older one has been out since 2010, and some people complained that the usb port can die over time, maybe they have re inforced that in the new one. but would it not of been easier just call it 935 or something...

Also another thing I like when you push the mic up it will automatically mute it self also has a mute button on the left ear cup and you can skip play pause music with the buttons on the headset pretty nice.

Ahh really didn't know that. Am I swaying you to the Logitech side ;) haha

I just want to clarify that I do like Corsair I have 2 cases 600t and 540 a K90 and about 100 SP/AF fans plus Power supply's lol.

The headsets from them I dont like.

I just dont like the sound really, I mean even going from my Turtlebeaches x11's and going to my 1500's I mean to be honest the sound was abit shit was much lower bass not intense.

I think all the corsair's headset use the same driver or sound whatever it is right.... 50mm

well, other than the corsair 2100's, is ther really any other choice? if i want wireless that is

Not really mate. I was sick to death with faking wires all over place so not much options really..
