Need help with water cooling

Okay I have a question concerning my case and radiators. I have a DF-85 case and i plan on having an internal loop cooling my cpu and gpu. My cpu is an i7 860 and the gpu is a 6970. My case has to 140mm fans at the top and from the research i have done a 280 rad wont cut it. I really dont want a million rads everywhere and i was wondering if there is a really thick 280 that can support this setup? If not I'm open to other suggestions. Just not external loops, i will also mod if it isn't too difficult.

As long as its just those two blocks and the one radiator that pump would be fine, The trouble is, that case isnt really suited for the one big rad. You "could" have two, but as in recent topics, the general Idea for that would be two seperate Loops.

Its more what your budget is and what your hoping to achieve.
 
Well i know i can fit the RAD inside the only qeustion i have is will it support two blocks? I'm also planning on overclocking the cpu.

sure a thick 280 will handle the two blocks, but it all comes down to what you want. If you want a loud computer, you can put push pull with some fast fans on the 280, but still i think ur temps won't be super amazing. you can try it, and it will work, but as i said you will have to have louder fans and maybe not the greatest temp. Then in a little while if you want better performance or a quiet computer all you need is an addition rad (which you can put in the front of your case, it seems like a 360 would fit in the front with very minor tweaks to the case) then with the two rads you should have amazing temps and quiet.

but i suggest you go with a d5 or ddc pump from the beginning just so when you need to add a rad your loop will be prepared .

Thanks so much for the help, i would put a 360 rad if the front but i'm not sure if it's possible to remove the hdd cage. If i can, how will a 360 RAD do to cool both blocks without the 280 rad?

np. i just googled the case again, and i'm curious, take a ruler and measure the space in the hhd cage a rad might actually fit there (i think rads are just a LITTLE wider then the fans you use, so for a 360 should be like 125 mm or something.

as for the cooling, the 360 should do ok with both blocks, but someone else with experience with either of those chips should be able to answer that question more specifically (i've got a SB chip which doesn't put out that much heat). but you can always just go with the 360 first and see how well it preforms, and only go for a extra 280 IF you need to

The fans are wider then the hdd cage but if i were to remove it, the radiator would fit fine i think. I'm not sure how i would go about removing it because it looks like there is little silver screws holding it in but there is no were to place a screwdriver in it.
 
On an rx360mm rad I had an i7 920 @ 4.2ghz and a hd6970 (no o/c but could have supported it easily) running on it in push config with gentle typhoon fans and it worked perfect.

Thanks so much for this post helps me a lot. Also thanks to the guy above. Last and final question i promise, can i have a fan attached to 2 radiators. For example fan rad fan rad fan? or would this not work since as the air traveling through the rad heats and the water cools then the next rad would have hot air traveling through it? or would this not make any difference? Sorry if i didn't explain this well, not sure how to explain it

just to answer your first rad question, about making a rad and fan sandwich ( fan | rad | fan | rad | fan ) its fine it will work, some people say its not good (its not AS good as having them completely separate) but its still good, take a look this guy does it too (and he owns a watercooling store)

Thats really good to hear because there will be so much room and the hdd cages also hide the wires so taking them out would cause trouble anyway thanks for the help.
