I wouldn't recommend XFX. I have mine (a near identical 7870 single fan) and while i have had no problems, the cooler is pretty ineffective without a powerful case fan and excellent ventilation in general due to the design. Even with the "double D" versions, cooling is a bit poor and recently people have had problems with DD coolers on the forum. Prehaps try to go for an Asus 'card or maybe even some sort of factory OC 7850?

I do like the 660... Do you think it is worth the money to go for it or would it be worth the wait to see if nvidia releases the 700 series as a price drop may follow? I want something that can play Nfs MW at 1600x900

You are not going to see any price drops due to the 700 series, any time soon. Maybe some time next year. And from what I hear, non of the initially released 700's will be in your price range.

There won't be any 7xx mid ranged cards at $200 for months. They'll rinse out the high end first just like they did with the 6 series. It took AAAAAAAGES for Nvidia to finally sort it out with 104.

hhmmmmm... ok. Can anyone find a different 7870 le other than the powercolor one??? Not real fond of them, would rather have something like a sapphire or something else. Havent found any le versions other than that one

also does anyone know anything about this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202025

That doesn't look like an LE to me. And so...

. Based on the render times of individual frames, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 is most definitely better than the AMD Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition.

So if you're looking for a graphics card in this price range, then the GTX 660 is the better choice.
