Hi all

Last weekend I both all the parts for my new pc. It's first time that I'm building it by my self. I was wondering in what order I have to put it together (hardware and software)???

I have:

motherboard: ASUS PK5-E WIFI-AP edition

CPU: INTEL Q6600

graphics : EVGA 8800 GT (ddr3 512mb)

ram : GEIL DDR2 1066 4GB

PSU : COLERMAASTER real power M620

CPU cooling : COLERMAASTER CM SPHERE

So can someone help me??

Here's how I would go about putting it together

-put the power supply in the case

-put the cpu in the motherboard, then attach the heatsink

-put the motherboard in the case

-install ram

-connect the power/hard drive activity/reset jumpers for your case

-put hard drives in the case

-connect the motherboard, fans and hard drives to the power supply

if your fans will connect to your motherboard (tiny 3-pin connector) then you should do that before connecting everything else to the power supply

-install video card

-connect video card to your power supply

cd drives, dvd drives, hd drives, fan controllers, flash media readers, etc... can be put in your case anytime but I would leave those until after you install everything else.

if your case has a front panel audio connector, you can also connect it along with the various drives.

It may just be me, but the fpa connector for my case is a bit short. I wouldn't be able to install a video card if I connected the fpa earlier (before the video card.)

make sure that your power supply is set to the right voltage (230v IIRC)

plug it into your outlet, flip the switch to turn the psu on.

after that you install the OS, and then any other hardware drivers you may have.

thanks . it's the same order that i was thinking , but i have one last thing to ask . For my motherboard i have 2 cd'd 1th is Superb Software Libary and 2nd P35 chipset suport cd. What for is that 2nd cd and wen i have to use/instal it??

looks like the 2nd disk is the motherboard drivers. (the 1st disk is just extra software)

You'll install it after you install the OS
