Ok so thats what Ive picked so far, do you think the 360mm rad will be enough? A friend was saying to add another 120mm Into the Loop as i have a GPU on there too?

Im sitting at 4.6ghz on my cpu with only a 60c max temp hit at the moment with an antec 620 khuler.

Also Im looking at Mayhems Pastel Fluids, what else do i need for the fluid like biocides and kill coils ect?? or is the fluid straight ready to use?

Any suggestions to other parts welcome!

All looks good. If you want to save some mony on a rad there is a XSPC RX360 rad on Ebay at the moment for £40 + £7 P&P that's £50 cheaper than new i'd send him a message as well asking him if he can do it for £35 I always send sellers offers and they usually accept. If he doesn't do it for £35 £40 is still a bargain though.

A 360 rad should definietly be enough. For Mayhem's Pastel range I don't know if you will need biocide or anything it depends if it comes as a premix i'm sure he will see this thread and let you know though.

ok cool thanks for the help, i hope mayhems does chip in his advice

As for the Rad, i thought the EK was a better option as its thicker than the XSPC?

Although if the xspc is good enough it would save me slight problems of RAM clearance

The RX360 is thicker than the EK, the RX is 60mm thick the EK is only 47mm thick. The EK one needs high rpm fans though where as the RX works with low rpm fans so with the RX you could have your fans on lower and still get good temps which also means a quieter rig.

ah, with the 60mm it would mean i couldnt have the middle fan installed because of my ram sticks, although i might be able to mount that fan on the otherside of the rad without problems.

A 60mm rad would be better because it will get you better temps than a 47mm one plus with the bonus of being able to have your fans set lower.

If you have clearance probs though it's probably best to go with a slimmer rad but if you can get your fans on the top of the rad without clearance issues that would be good. Having one set of fans on top pulling the air out is supposed to be more efficient by up to 2-3 *c than having them underneath in push anyway.

would it matter much if i had 2 pull on one side and 1 push on the other side?

That would make very little difference

Ideally you want the radiator to do all the work so that the system is quiet anyway. If your fans are blowing hard you should have bought a bigger rad imo. So a thicker rad with a random fan config is better than a thin rad blowing loud and hard with fans everywhere.

ok cool nice to know, im going to be using CM sickleflows with the rad. its what im using at the moment on my antec Khuler, 2 sickleflows in a push-pull state on a 120mm Rad thats only 27mm thick lol!

that XSPC rad your on ABout SieB looks just perfect

One of the Buggers on this Forum must of read this Thread and bought that flippin Rad lol

What about this rad? http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/cus...m-Triple-Radiator--GTX360-LITE-pid-13088.html

That's a good radiator but it's optimised for higher speed fans. It totally depends on how you view radiators. If you want the best cooling then that radiator and powerful fans are great. Look for high CFM fans with a good static pressure.

Personnally I like the peace and quiet so I rate the xspc stuff (particularly the RX range) which is designed for low rpm fans and is effective and affordable. Then I get a bigger radiator and more of them than I need and keep the fans on idle.

M&P

Bloody buggers aye, I probably should have PM'd you about that rad but I didn't have my thinking cap on earlier

Hardware Labs rads are good the SR series are better if you don't mind spending the extra.

Keep your eye on Ebay though there are rads on there regularly.

Il keep Watching ebay for now, another week or so till i order anything, Might Justify paying 90quid for Rad then

Its a pain because i only have a Space of exactly 410mm to work with unless i Remove a USB 3.0 Cable from the top of the Case, but id prefer to keep everything functional

I don't know of any blue LED ones that are any good, I think but i'm not sure though that Phobya have/are releasing some of their nanoG's in blue, if so they are pretty decent fans.

Some good non LED and different colored fans are

Scythe Gental Typhoons 1150 or 1850 RPM ones

Akasa Viper

Akasa Apache

be quiet! Shadow Wings SW1 BL055

The Reeven fans Coolmiester used in one of his builds that are due out in November at QuietPC

Cougar Vortex PWM

I like my cm sickleflows with blue led.At 12v they are bright, but they are not that silent. But its more like airflow through the rad noise.

With a 9v resistor, the noise should be minor.

yea i have a couple of Sickleflows in my case at the moment, They do get a tad noisy when you put them 100%

Thanks for the List SieB
