Hi all,

I have a new water cooling project i want to start. I have abandoned the last one.

I have been looking at toms orca vids and the way he is modding his looks quite good, so i thought i would try my own hand at it :)

I have all the tools like a dremel and stuff.

PS: To all you people out there who say this is over kill! Ask your self what dose the future hold?

I'm not water cooling my GTX 690 for the foreseeable future.

Anyways on with the show. :)

Parts listed Below:

2X Stacked Aquacomputer AMS Airplex Modularity System 360mm Single Circuit Triple Radiator 33036 : Copper

OR

1X Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 360mm Triple Radiator : Full Copper

----------------------

Aquacomputer Cuplex Kryos XT CPU Waterblock for Intel Socket 2011

Aquacomputer Aqualis Laing DDC Pump Top and 450ml Reservoir : Bundle Deal

XSPC 7/16" ID - 5/8" OD (11-16mm) 'Retail Pack' 2m (6.5ft) Tubing : White

1/4" Thread High Flow Barb Fitting for 1/2" (13mm) ID Tubing : Black

Mayhems X1 Fluid for Water Cooling 1 Litre : Clear

Noctua NF-F12 120 x 120 x 25mm Focused FLow PWM Case Fan : NF-F12 PWM

----------------------

There the parts, so here is the plan

XSPC 5.25" D5 Dual Bay Reservoir and Pump Combination

New Plan:

As for the rad is it better to go push pull with a smaller rad for pull with a bigger one? Because i only have enough room for 75mm from the top of the motherboard to the top of the case.

Here is my opinion:

Swap noctua fans for the corsair SP120s, they are half the price and just as good.

I looked at that same CPU block for my build and I dont remember it doing all that well in reviews, mabey swap for a XSPC raystorm? Not a huge issue though.

So I am going to be annoying and say yeah I think this is overkill :p But here is my justification. You could put a single 360 in the roof without cutting anything. That saves you time and effort plus you dont loose all your drive bays. This would be plenty of cooling capacity and any extra would be completely un-utilised on a single CPU.

If you did it that way then if you need more cooling capacity, say you decide to cool your 690 or something you can still add another rad in the front later.

Thanks for the reply Perturabo,

So would you say put the aquacomputer one in the top with pull fans on the outside of the case? or get a less thicker rad and go with push pull? because i can only find one review on the ams by aquacomputer and they say it is very good?

To be honest I think you would be ok with just pull. The AMS is good yes, there is ~1 degree in it for the best few 360 rads of the same thickness, nothing worth worrying about so I would probably go for the RX360 instead seeing as it is just over half the price on special tech, pretty decent saving...

As rossi said Noiseblocker make awesome fans but you will pay a premium for them. Still 3 nosieblocker pk2s would be great on either of those rads.

The radiators you have chosen are too much. However if there is a chance that the 690s will be watercooled then go with that setup. Also I would go with 1/2" tubing as I think it looks better.

Remember short loops look better and take more planning.

You want the least amount of hose used possible to keep it tidy.

Its better to ask questions first and plan it properly (and it take a bit longer) than rush it and end up having to redo it because we point out everything youve done wrong :p

Ditch the Mayhems, get 5 ltrs of DI for £3 from Halfords.

The loop is unnecessarily long,if you move the res/pump to the right of the board it will shorten the loop considerably.

Noctua's....the SP's are as good static wise for a lot less money and a lot better looking.

XSPC tubing is not the greatest, you could be better off with masterkleer...

5ltr DI? What's that?

Thanks guys i have updated the first post with some of the advice you have given me.

If i go push pull i will get 6 sp120 quiet editions. as they are cheaper than getting 4 noctuas
