[Build Log] SwitchAlpha

Yeah, I would say paint the silver bars on the Dominators copper. If you're scared of what it would look like, get someone that has Photoshop to color them copper in the pic of the inside on your last post. Nicely done, so far though.

Cheers! :beerchug:

omgomgomg get the caps for the Dominators anodized! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*head explodes*

Srsly tho the bit of chrome aside that turned out amazing! Can't state enough how awesome those Noctua fans look in there as well, nothing else would have made sense (unless you had Corsair fans with the white ring dyed copper).

Or get Corsair to make some in Copper to me :D - But the chance on that ? Very very small, but Alphacool has come back to me. And they a very very sad, that i have some problem whit the 90 * and the barbs. So they will see what they can do to help me..

I briefly looked at plating plastic via Google. Maybe something to think of. Copper plated rings on the fans.

I have actually bought two cans of this stuff: Weicon Copper Spray
It's not exactly cheap, but it's very fine real copper particles suspended in an resin cement
matrix (after application), which will behave pretty much like pure copper with regards to
tarnishing and aging. It's basically a way to cold plate your parts with real copper. I'll be
using it for various small parts on HELIOS for exactly that purpose. I looked around for
various alternatives but I didn't like the look of "fake" copper sprays (i.e. sprays that just
look like copper but are really something else).

However, I haven't yet tried it so I can't yet say how well it really performs or how good it
looks. They also make steel particle sprays and other sorts metal sprays, it's pretty high
quality stuff. There's also another company that makes a similar product, Wekem IIRC.

EDIT: I could only find this on eBay, no store in my country had it (at least none I
could find). The seller I bought it from ships to the EU and Switzerland. link

I never thought of something like that, I have used cold galvanizing compound spray, which is zinc. It is costly. Thinking back to my car days, one place to look is probably automotive paint places.

I was going to see if a local paint store can match the texture of the green of my case. I want to put a bottom in it to cover the fan grids and I'd like it textured a bit like the case. They for sure can scan the color and match it, maybe a satin gloss would look okay, but it has a slight more texture to it and I'd like to match that.

So one small update, the build as been taken down. And will not come back up some day soon, the mobo have been send out of the house.

Last night my pc just closet and will not start, so have uset all day to test all the hardware. And can't get life in my mobo and CPU :/ Tryed a new cpu in the mobo and my own cpu in a friends build. So i thing this has cost me a mobo and CPU :/ But have not done any OC on the cpu and will wait on what MSI have to say on this. Hope they can get me some info very very soon.
