hmmmm i am thinking....the 3000+ venice is only a tenner more than frags winnie. i think that might be a beter option tbh. i just priced up the system on newegg. i comes to $410 or £223 plus shipping to UK. that is amazingly cheap and i think i could afford that int he next month or so.

the only thing is this......

the DFI motherboard on newegg is refurbished (£50!!!!!) does this make much of a difference???

the 3000+ venice is OEM and so does not come wiht a HSF. maybe i could ask frag really nicely for his spare stock one or maybe somebody in the UK can donate one???

thoughts please people??

llks lie u gonna have 2 win frags sig compo

Yeah just win Frags sig comp!!

Umm...would donate mine but I wanna keep it for when I sell it!

Get the refurb...I think it should still have its warranty and stuff! :D

cool. i also need to know about custom tax. XMS seems the think it is very risky, but i have never had anything charged. anybody had bad experiences??

I would be hesitant about getting a DFI motherboard. I've heard great things from great people getting great results with it but there is an equal amount of users who are having problems with their boards! Some people have sent their board back over three times and have yet to recieve a working board in exchange.

Just sort through the xtremesystems.org forums, it's full of unhappy DFI NF4 users. If I were you I would look into the Abit F4T4L1TY AN8-SLI. It's equally expensive and I haven't heard nearly as many complaints as the DFI board. If I were you, I would search long and hard for a reliable board. DFI's give the best overclock but is it really worth the heartache? Not to mention, it's not like an Abit or MSI board won't give a comparable overclock, after all, we're talking a 50mhz difference (at most).

That's my ten cents. If I were building the computer for a customer, I would not buy a DFI NF4 because of the record number of Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS) reports. Again, believe me, the extra mhz you'll hit with a DFI is marginal at best.

Only problem with the fatality is with the voltage ajustments (or lack there of). I hear they don't let you pump many volts into anything and that the BIOS is pretty weak.

Dave if u place ur order through Newegg (through me) I can send along the XP-90 w/ ur parts.

sorry frag that was what i was going to do, but i forgot to tell you lmao!! i am ordering thru you, u are shipping to me piece by piece so as to not get caught in customs. and i am still undecided as to whether to choose ur winnie or a venice. i dontr eally mind about te xp90 when i can get a venice for only £10 more! tis nothing.
