My new x58 Rig

I was running out of internal space and pci-e slots,then i looked around the web, and found some new items for my new build.Had some rewievs to read here at OC3D and others.Final build specs,Case : Coolermaster HAF XMotherboard : Asrock X58 extreme6 CPU : Intel i7 950
PSU : Corsair AX 1200

Items i had from the Amd-rig,

GPU : Saphire radeon HD 5970 4 gb.
Saphire radeon HD 5870 1 gb.
Asus EAH 5870 v2 1 gb.
Ram : Kingston 3x2gb ramkit hyperX 1600.
Cpu-cooler : Noctua NH-D14.
HDD : Intel Postville 80 gb ssd,storage WD 1.tb 7200rpm sata 3.
DVD/bluray : Pioneer dvd-rw dvr-218L,Samsung dvdwbd sh-b083L.
System : Windows 7 ultimate 64.

This is a big case,loaded with my new intel build.

Think i got this nice and tidy.Though i might replace the 140mm out fan,with sleeved cabling,maybe a scythe slipstream.

All things running,and again the noctua stands out.

Man this is one BIG tower.63 cm or 2f 1,5inches tall on whells.

What i like: The saphire radeon 5970 4gb. No need to purchase the toxic edition.This one could run 1000mhz oc easily on the crosshair IV,but not on the asrock board,only a measily 960mhz oc.But eats some heavy frames aswell.
And the two other gpu`s ill remove when not needed,they are noisy as hell,specially the Asus.The 5970 i can lock at 50% fanspeed and never rises above 70c,even at full pull.And it is inaudible at 50%.
The corsair PSU is totaly awesome,maintains a 4.2ghz oc on cpu and 3 gpu`s,and the 5970 is a powerhungry beast.
The air from the psu is as cold,even when i pull all i can .

what a random array of cards why not just 2 5870's and sell the 5970

or the otherway around TRI sli sucks and you will be losing performace somewere

Yes have noticed that.

but the story is ,i first bought the saphire 5870 and wasnt satisfied with that.so i bought the asus 5870.and they were really noisy ,pulling frames max.

then i had the 5970 4gb,and this is my preferred gpu,the tri thing was only ,try it out.

i would keep the 5970 IMO single rapid card that will be fine for ages

sell the other 5870's and then get a better mobo or a bigger SSD

Yes this is indeed a fine piece.Have plans for my amd rig.building it up with the two 5870.

but it`ll have to wait after christmas to purchase any new items.but i have in mind a 128 or 160gb ssd.and i want an asus board again.they are just so good to work with.

had my first asus based pc with the P2L97 .

yes asus boards are sound.

if your building another ig then keep them but take them out that rig and just use the 5970 fella
