I have been upgrading my old rig over the past few weeks, but it's got to the point now that the only thing left from the old one is the SATA cables and the OS.
Anyways, here's the specs of my new rig:
I didn't intend to get all new components and it started out with the new CPU and mem. Then when I removed the waterblock from my 9800GX2 and refitted the stock aircooler, I borked it! The GX2 works but displays all sorts of crap on the screen, I think I may have missed a thermal pad on one of the chips and fried it. So that meant a new GPU and £300 down the pan too. The PSU I had laying around and I liked the modular ribbon cables so I decided to use that. Then I decided I may as well upgrade the hard drives, I only had a single 250gb drive and space was limited.
So what started out as a CPU/mem upgrade has resulted in a nearly whole new rig
Cheers,
Stu
