My near future build

Hello everyone, first i would like to apologise for this being my first post and i am asking for help, in the future i will try my best to balance out my help karma. I am building a PC (obviously) and i arent too knowledgeable at what components will work together and which components are good value for money so i thought i would come here for help. I have spent a lot of time reading reviews and just generally looking at things to help me decide and i thought it would be best to ask people that have already done things like this.

Other information

i plan on overclocking it once it starts to struggle running games as well as i want. future upgrades will probably include an SSD for the OS and maybe a second monitor. i will be playing games at 1080p and i want it to be reasonably futureproof which is why i have gone for a pretty beefy graphics card. i would be willing to change any part for a better part of a cheaper part that will do the same but this list is very very close to the limits of my budget. thanks in advance for any help and/or advice

If I were you I would wait a while before buying a Z68 motherboard. PCI-E 3.0 Z68 motherboards are being released soon which are also forwards compatible with Ivy bridge CPUs and obviously PCI-E 3.0 GPUs.

By waiting and buying a PCI-E 3.0 motherboard you are future proofing against the Ivy Bridge CPUs and the 28nm PCI-E 3.0 and future GPUs.

if you are not going to be rendering hi-res 3D graphics (or similar) why would you want an i7-2600K. it will be overkill and a waste!!!

save the money, and get a 2500K. and then get a better GPU

do you have any rough timescale for them to become avaliable? i need this computer up and fully working before uni starts again which means i want to have the parts in my hands within in the next month (gives me a few weeks to make sure everything works). my laptop crapped out a few times trying to plot some 900000+ data point graphs that i needed for my uni work and only a very few computers at uni can do it and they are usually taken.

They are rumored for August/September but if you need a computer asap for uni I wouldn't wait on it just in case there are delays. You could always upgrade at a later date I thought i'd just mention it because future proofing wise it's the best option.

that is a very good point, i had overlooked the i5 because i am a fool that assumes i7>i5 for me, is there really no difference apart from HT?
