Hi all!

Built this back in October, just finished it off with a couple of details and thought I'll post some pictures with specs to share with you guy's. So here it goes:

CPU: Intel i7 3770k
Cooler: Corsair H100 with Corsair Performance SP120's running on 7V
GPU: Asus GTX 670 DC2
Motherboard: Asus Maximus V Extreme
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8Gb 1600Mhz
SSD: Samsung 830 256Gb
HDD: Western Digital 2Tb Green
PSU: Corsair AX850

Sound card: Asus D2X

Case: Cooler Master Storm Trooper (with an added additional drive cage and original led fan) with a window side panel and all stock fans running on low
LED's: NZXT 1m white (the switches are mounted on a dark tinted acrylic bracket in the front + I can still fit the original box in! Although I don't keep it there)

Monitor: Asus PB278Q
Keyboard: Logitech Illuminated
Mouse: Logitech G5
Card Reader: Kingston FCR-HS3 USB 3.0

Notes: Some colours in pictures appear slightly off. The led's seem blueish or really white in a couple of them but in fact they're the normal led white as you would get from your phone (this is because I had to adjust the white balance on camera between the pc and room lighting). And yes, I'm using wifi. But I'm running it off Asus rt-n65u and there's not a slightest bit of difference in using wires, cause my broadband is so slow (tested)... Also, I occasionally plug Microlab Solo 6C's in, but in general I'm using some Philips in-ear headphones.

Solid rig with some solid specs, I like it! Planning on doing any custom water cooling?

I was going to at the beginning. But then I thought it may be quite impractical as I'm a student and I move flats every now an then and I just don't want the extra hassle at the moment. + my temps are really good right now and I don't need a huge overclock at the moment either. I'll see how it goes during the summer though :D

very nice setup nex-s.
was wondering, where'd you buy the desk from, the name and dimensions?
im looking for a similar looking desk like that you see.. :)

Know that feel. If it's not broken, don't fix it, amirite?

Really liking the lighting on this. Subtle red in front with main innards in white. Nice!

And yeah, water cooling really can make a build heavy as fuck. I always need some extra help with lifting my PC

TBH I have no idea. I had two such desks in my flat already. And it's not new or anything, actually seems quite old. They have these at my work as well so I assume they were quite popular/cheap somewhere at some point.

Yeah, sort of. I just didn't want to spend the extra 150-200 pounds for something that would add extra hassle at the moment. + I would probably need to modify some bits in the case as I would then go with a 240-280 in the roof and a 240 in the bottom. Also, one thing is really bothering me all the time. I'm wondering, if a 360 would fit in the front without removing the drive cages. At the moment there is 10mm space from the fans to the front dust filters. And there is space to move the drive cages back. So a 30mm rad would easily fit, all you would need to do is make some kind of a bracket to fix it on there, cause the fan spacing between the drive cages is too big for standard rad screw holes. But I guess I won't find out. Not just now at least. What I'm thinking is, that in such a way it might actually be possible to fit a 240/280 in the roof, a thin 360 in the front and a thin 240 in the bottom. Bit of an overkill though. But just a thought.

+ I didn't go with watercooling cause I don't have any tools here. All my stuff is almost 2k kilometres away, or 3k if you drive.

I really have to say that the pictures don't do the lighting justice at all. It's a really nice/balanced white, not too cold, not too white, unlike the pictures show. But yeah, I was first thinking to go with led strips, but wanted something with a switch that could also change the intensity of the led's. + the strips would cost me at least twice as much and would be too bright. I didn't want to make it too shouty, otherwise it would be quite intrusive imo. And I don't think I could have positioned the strips how I wanted in those two particular places.

But yeah, it's already quite heavy and I was very cautious of how much the handle can actually hold when I was moving it around, haha. Add watercooling + a few more hard drives and I think I would need some back supporting straps or something :D

If you want to check out a really good water cooled setup that utilizes this case, check out Tom's build log for Orca. He has some pretty killer gear in that thing and explains what he had to do to get everything to fit. At the very least it would give you an idea of what you were up against for when you do actually go to attempt something like that.

I've seen pretty much every Tom's video since summer 2011 and quite a few even before that. I have an idea of several different setups and how it would work, would just need to do a bit more detailed measurements. But I'm not going to do it now anyway, cause as I said, I don't have any tools over here and don't really want to buy any since that would add to the nightmare when I move again.
