Mushkin Chronos 120gb Deluxe has arrived.. Now what?

So guys, my Chronos deluxe has just arrived in the post and i want install windows 7 on it, for now anyway. Games etc can come later

First of all, this is my system:

Asus p6x58d-e

12gb corsair xms3 1600mhz

i7 950 currently at standard clocks etc

MSI gtx560 twin frozr

Samsung f3 1tb (x3 drives)

Corsair 750w

I'll obviously be using the sata 6gb/s ports on my board to hopefully get the best from it, but what im not entirely sure about is setting up and tuning the drive. Literally all your thoughts please!

go into bios and set ur sata controller to achi then install win 7 as normal repost back after you have done thatmake sure the only drive hooked up at this time is the ssd no other drives well ur optical if using one is ok lol no other storage devices

Ah thanks ill do this as soon as i get it cleaned, im currently removing a few bits tovclean but i've already disconnected the other drives so ill do that and repost soon. Thanks!

Right im in the bios, as its running off sata iii ports is it on the marvell 9128 controller, so do i enable this to ahci mode? As i want to keep the storage drives on sata ii in IDE mode (still disconnected dont worry!) Ta

you'll need a extracted copy of the firmware on a cd or usb stick along with the bootable flash program they recommend check the manufacturers website they should have a tutorial for it

JEEZE its so snappy and fast at loading anything! I know ive only got windows 7 on it but still wow.

I downloaded the new firmware and it has a flash program that you run in windows, shall i proceed to use that, after all i have nothing to lose other than reinstalling windows?

Trying to update the fimware using the application provided with the latest firmware via usb from this laptop and it tells you to select the package file but its giving me an error message saying 'invalid package'.

It's a pleasure the PC doesn't hang me, boot to desktop, click IE, OC3D and voila! Bish bash 'n bosh.

did you extract it or just put the file on the usb???? it has to be extracted first then put on flash drive

Package file now loads correctly but of course i have to do it to the drive whilst im running off another drive as its undiscoverable? :S
