MSI GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Review

Yeah I can only guess at the hours you lot are putting in.

I was wondering how you never seem to get sagging cards no matter the weight? Or am I that blind? Because the Ti, and especially the lightning, is heavy! The triple bracket may help with this particular model I suppose.

Hurrah. Finally a Lightning card to make me drool as much as I did when the 480 Lightning came out.

Welcome back to ass kicking land MSI.

They certainly made a card that has all the I want one factors, Tom if you have to send it back could you accidentally put the wrong address I wont tell it arrived here :)

Will have to watch the video later today! You srsly know how to make people drool, Tom!

If I didn't have a 1070 already, this is what I'd be saving for right now!

I'd even keep the triple slot on if I had reinforced PCI-Slots already, lol

//EDIT: Just out of curiosity and because I'm not into power delivery and PSUs at all: could you also run this GPU with only 2 8-Pins connected? Maybe only in Game mode and not all the way up to Lightning mode? Also, did I miss the price tag on this monster?

Yeah and come to think of it I haven't seen any apart from thos who bought their own.

I think with the 1080Ti they had already rubbed more than enough salt in the wounds of the people who bought the TXP. Making a big deal out of the TXp would have probably alienated their customers even more.

That actually happened with every Ti and its respective Titan counterpart... Even the 780Ti and also even Inno3D's DHS 780 performed better in games than the original Titan.
Ti = [T]itan rrelevant^^

Yeah totally. But when they launch two Titans on the same tech it's even more of a slap in the face. If I bought the original and then the Black came along £200 cheaper I would be annoyed.

People who buy Titans mostly buy every new GPU Nvidia make. So I guess they get used to being slapped :D

I bought two Titan Blacks for a job that never materialised. Well, it did, but not to the payment stage. I've done it though.. Two TBs at launch. Never again.

Nothing irrelevant about the Titan Xp it is noticeably faster than any of the 1080 ti cards even the Lightning in the review above. The main problem with the Titan Xp is the price.

Having said that when the EVGA Kingpin 1080 Ti hits the shelves it will probably be very expensive for less performance than the Titan Xp.

Those buying titans know that a Ti will follow within the year that will be better. Time and again. So they have no right to complain in my opinion. The Xp is an odd beast and should have been the original Pascal Titan.

AlienALX, having bought those blacks and the project ending like that, I'm sorry and it sucks!!

As to the lightning; awesome card! Cooler design stolen from the Strix obviously. Not that I care because it looks the part!!

A lot of people here did not expect the 1080Ti to beat the Titan XP. The reviews came out and people were not necessarily shocked, but they doubted Nvidia would match the Titan.
