msi afterburner wont load up, i just get a message that says "Some of MSI afterburner components are expired, missing or corrupted." WHY!

It was working 10 minutes ago before this post and now i suddenly get this. I have reinstalled, re downloaded ect, and nothing works. I can only use 2.5beta 2 because that is the only one that works with the 6990.

the worse part is is i just got done watercooling my 6990 and was about to do some crazy overclocks, and then this happens

simple!!! don't use it

why you need to run afterburner on a water-cooled 6990, i have no idea!!!

there is, pushing things to extremes, and breaking things... the two are very closely related - lol

also i like afterburner open so i can see my temps.

Also my overclock is currently stable at 950core and 1400 with a 15% power draw. gunna run a few more tests.

i just got done running a 3dmark 11 test and passed it at 950/1400 with 15% max temp 62c

I have done quite a bit of overclocking With Afterburner on my 480 with great results. The thing you want to watch out for though, along with temp, is stability. I found that even if my 3D Mark score went up, that the card wasn't necessarily 100% stable. With the voltage at max in afterburner my scores kept going up until I hit 950 MHz, but it wasn't completely stable. I found that one of the best stability tests is folding at home. If you run F@H and the card is even the least bit unstable it will fail almost immediately, and if you run a full work unit or 2 it will also give you the hottest temp the card will ever hit. With Folding I found the card was only stable at 910 MHz at that voltage, and the highest temp I've ever seen was 58 after running folding over night. I'd also be remiss if i didn't say to join the OC3D Redline folding team 98860.

hi v7 cores for AMD GPUs are not out yet (AFAIK), for F@H

K_O_S is having nightmares with his hd6990 - they are not the best OC-ers

by the looks of it i am stable. but my scores from Unigene and metro 2033 bench marks are the same at 950/1400 as they are at 880/1250? I had this same issue when i had my 5870 and all i had to do was increase the voltages and it made a HUGE difference.
