Motorcyclist films friend's death

it was both there fault, car was trying too overtake at the wrong time and hit the biker who came up on the inside with cars coming in both directions

I have to say that the car who overtook should never have done so at that time on a single carriage way, but as the car driver was a little reckless he would have been ok.

The bike had no way of knowing the car was going to overtake and i am sure he had done the same thing many times in the past but no one should do 100mph on a single carriage road.

I am sure there both to blame but the car driver and the bikers friend will be burdened with that moment for the rest of his life.

Rider obviously. If he'd have been doing the speed limit then he wouldn't have been hit by the muppet in the hatchback. If he'd have had half a brain he wouldn't have tried to go three-wide on a single-lane road.

In fact, if he'd have just been tootling along the hatchback driver would have been killed by the collision with the camper. After all, he'd never have made that pass stick.

IMO bikes should respect the rules of the road just the same way that cars do. Dodging and weaving in and out of traffic, coming within millimetres of cars wing mirrors etc is only asking for trouble and drivers of cars shouldn't have to look out for the idiot speeding down the white line.

The real victims here are the innocent people who had to witness the incident and will probably be haunted for life. Not the idiot on the motorbike breaking the law and playing with his life.

Innocent people witnessing the incident now including me

The car was driving badly and was blatently reckless. I think there was just about enough room for them to overtake, but no way should they be doing that.

However, the dangerous driving of both bikes was appalling. Doing over 110MPH on busy public road? Deathwish. I've driven a car over 130MPH (by mistake, didn't realise my speed in an incredibly fast car), I'm ashamed to say and at that speed you lose a little peripheral vision as everything goes past you too fast to take in. Going 160MPH on a bike on a busy road is wishing to be killed. Overtaking a long line of cars at like 80MPH in what looks like rush hour is also a certain way to die. Just because you can does not mean you should.

no one will learn from it.

It will happen again and gain.

I feel sorry for camper van people ....

Yeah i have to agree about feeling sorry for the guy in the camper van, he will have to live with that image of the guy going under his motor at 100 mph for the rest of his life. Maybe harsh to say he deserved as nobodys deserves that but still man, he bought it on himself, although the guy pulling out like that didn't really help matters.

it was both their fault, the car never indicated to overtake (in a stupid place) and even if it did the bike was going to fast to react. I do feel sorry for the people who witnessed it.

O and put a warning on the OP as not everyone wants to see that video.
