Monster Addiction

It doesn't take a lot of time to get the fruits done. It only takes about 30 mins to peel a bunch of oranges and apples, wash grapes, berries and kiwi. Next I would just get some ziplock bags and throw them in the freezer. When my family want something else other than water to drink or a dessert, I'd just take some of the frozen fruit out of from the freezer and get the blender out to make smoothies.

i to am addicted to Monster but only when they are on offer like atm a local supermarket has them for 2 for £2 and i can't help but get them :/

though when they aren't on offer i find it a lot easier to resist though still do get them if i feel i need them, even got a sealed can sat on my spare desk ready for when i have to get up tomorrow to walk the dog and then go to Toms, i have been tired all this week though and even now after having 2 cans already today i am almost falling asleep and its only 8:20pm :/

I love energy drinks in general, but especially Monster. $10 for a 4 Pack and buy one get one free, drank 32 cans over the weekend. Weird thing is, I only drink these drinks for the taste, because caffeine doesn't appear to have any effects on me, at least anymore.

Before I left the States, I was addicted to Dr Pepper and Frappuccino. I was throwing away like $20 a day on that crap. Then I got here and neither was available. I damn near died.

I tried Red Bull, but it left a waxy aftertaste all the time. Tried Rockstar, but it was too acidic. Tried Burn, but it burned (acid reflux). Never tried Monster. And now I have to make due with Pepsi, because norwegian CocaCola has a nasty vegetable oil/ancient sewer aftertaste. I can get American Dr Pepper from Sweden, but it costs a fortune. In equivalent terms it's about $3/can, and only available in 12oz cans.

But then I found Tine Iskaffe. Mmm... Ice Coffee. So I began throwing my money away on that. About $18 a day. 6 or 7 330ml servings daily. Roughly 12oz.

Then I lost my job. I had to start making my own ice coffee. From then on I broke all drinking addictions. Nowadays I get by on whatever. Still make some coffee everyday, maybe a gallon or so. Pepsi as a standby. Not addicted anymore... nope...

I just found a 4 pack for $6.50 here!! My addiction continues!

Caffeine works like a hard drug. The more you get, the more you need to "see" an effect. The effect is there, you just hide it better now. I bet you sleep really light though, almost never getting a deep sleep. Caffeine has a half life in the body of 12 hours. High caffeine users also feel tired all the time unless they get their fix. 32 cans of monster over the weekend, dude you're going to give yourself a heart attack.

Edit: Omfg, I sound like one of my parents.

I think i once heard something about caffeine affecting the same parts of the brain as cocaine and nicotine, i could be wrong tho

I don't drink tea or coffee/rarely drink energy drinks so I'm not addicted to anything really. I do drink a lot of plain milk though

Thanks for the information on caffeinie.

I'm trying to cut back before either one of kidneys or heart start messing up. If only these supermarkets stop putting on such awesome deals for them. In regards to sleep, I have no issues sleeping, and I am able to get 9 hours of sleep a night easily, not sure what that means in regards light vs deep sleep.

I'm just slowly easing off them. From one a day to 3/4 a day for a week, then half, then a quarter, and then the last week probably just a sip per day.

9 years ago I was drinking 10 - 20floz bottles of Mountain Dew in a 8 hours shift at work. Now I am down to 3 bottles in a 10 hour shift. I am slowly getting better, but don't think I will ever be able to give it up.

I would like to know why Monster hasn't released a non-caffeinated beverage that tastes the same as all the original energy drinks. I would buy that! I mostly like it for the flavor and not really for the energy anyways.
