Modding My GTX 780 Ti

I think this little mod had an unexpected beneficial side effect, My general temps of the GPU have dropped by 4'c, Same ambient temps.

I'm guessing it has something to do with tempering the metal maybe

maybe or if you reseated it and used new pads and thermal pads they may be more efficient
:D

Nope nothing like that, You don't actually remove the cooler when doing this mod only the 5 metal pieces around it which are held on with around 12+ screws.

I did ask a friend of mine about metallurgic properties who does blacksmithing which I think is just freaking cool, Anyway he said that by heating the metal up for a prolonged period of time I would of re-aligned the molecules i.e heat treated the metal making it's heat dissipation properties slightly better, Personally I think it's just wizardry ^_^

i know very little about that but afaik that's pretty much used to harden the metal (only steel?)
didn't know it could affect the heat dissipation properties

Well this friend of the family has been a blacksmith for the past 23 years so if he says something about metal I'm listening to him :D

Well there you go, guys. Cook your graphics card for better performance ;)

I only baked 4 pieces of metal from the coolers shroud ^_^
