I currently have two small drives set up in RAID 0 to dual boot Win 7 & XP. I am getting a single large drive to replace them, and I'd like to migrate my Win 7 files and settings to this drive with a new Win 7 installation.
Looking at the options for Windows Easy Transfer Utility:
An Easy Transfer Cable wouldn't work because I'm not transferring to another computer.
A Network Connection wouldn't work for the same reason.
An External Hard Disk with an Easy Transfer File won't work because I don't have an external drive big enough.
Is there a way to leave my RAID array in place, plug in my new drive, install Win 7, and then to migrate my files and settings over? Without having to hunt for every last setting file?
I do have a large internal storage drive with some extra room.
Could I use Windows recovery & a Disk Image of my RAID array on my storage drive to copy everything over to my new drive? Or would the Image only be able to be used to create a new array?
Would Easy Transfer Utility be able to access an Easy Transfer File from that drive, even though it's not external?
Any help is appreciated.
