Yeah I'm trying, but it's not going so well. Just sold two Xbox's on eBay, so I have a little money to play around with now if I need it. Gonna try not to spend it, but we both know how that's gonna go...

i know, you gunna sell another xbox?!
kinda like me here in arkansas... want money, sell a pig! or a chicken! LOL..
i got so much inventory, i gotta one of these days inventory and sell off and "pair-down" a bit...

airdeano

Why, do you want one? And yeah buying and selling has been my profession for quite a while now as I haven't really had a job until this summer.

Anyone have any idea on what I could hit with the carbon fiber? I was thinking the Raystorm plate and the radiator, but I like the look of the aluminum on the Raystorm and you can't even see the radiator where I have it, so I'm stumped. Maybe I'll just do the whole case like in this video.

hummm lemme see...

wait, wait, wait... nawwwww... thought i had an idea..
it was the Endless Scrimps at Red Lobster that interupted my train of thought.

Long story short I ended up tearing everything down (again) for various reasons which I won't get into to save you the boredom. But while it was apart I thought I'd test out a couple things since once everything's together, it would be a PITA to take apart again to fix something.

The Test Bed:

First time I've busted out the stock cooler, since I didn't wanna mount my Hyper 212 cuz I'm only doing a simple test or two.

So good news and bad news: Good news is the power LED from my mod on the first page works! Bad news is the hard drive LED doesn't :(
IMAG0426.jpg

So I'll be cracking that thing open again tomorrow to see if I can see anything wrong, and if not I might have to swap out the LED which is a pain. Hoping that's not the case!

Ended up just fixing the hard drive light tonight, why do tomorrow what you can do today or something like that. Not sure what was wrong with it, probably a bad LED or something. I just snipped the whole thing off, stripped the wires, and soldered on a new LED and resistor to be safe.

Voila.

That's enough work for one day I suppose, off to bed now. Really gotta start some of these essays, the 30th draws ever nearer...

Got the H1 bay covers in today, they look nice but really don't match the XSPC cover as well as I would like them to, and I don't think they're worth the $20 I paid for them in my case. Posted em up for sale in the for sale section if you want em.

I've made a decision... I'm selling the good ole ZX 850. It's just too loud for the silent system I'm trying to build. You can say "I told you so" all you want, I still love my Vertex 4 :p I bought the thing for $90 bucks new, I'm thinking I can easily get more than that so I'm happy. I'm gonna put the money towards an AX650 or 750, depending on the prices at the time of buying, those are pretty quiet right?

Also, bunch of stuff is coming tomorrow. New keyboard, a new biocide, and of course 8 square feet of 3M carbon fiber wrap. Still not sure what to do with it... I'll figure something out.

the newer technology PSUs are.. with the high output before the fans ramp to 25%.
i like the HX and AX series.

what, you sell another X-Box? LOL ...

Yeah yeah we all knew how that was gonna go... I'm hoping that money from this PSU will pay for a lot of the new one, but it is payday tomorrow too so I'm not too worried about it :)

Wow, that XSPC bayres sure blended into the front. Or is it even just slightly discolored or something?

Yeah it does look really good, it's just slightly darker than the 650D. You can barely tell though, I honestly don't know why I bought the bay covers cuz it looks great as it is.

Carbon fiber wrap is here...

Put a 1 foot ruler down at the corner for perspective. It's a lot of vinyl! Not quite sure what I'm gonna do with it yet, but I'm sure I could use it on more than just the computer.

For example:

Super cool carbon fiber light switch!

Gonna try to get to wrap something tonight, got a lot of work so we'll see.

Finished up the rad tonight, not gonna have time to do anything anymore so I gotta take what I can get.

Oooooo Ahhhhhh:
IMAG0440.jpg

Would ya look at those curves...
IMAG0443.jpg

Got a lot better with using this stuff after trying it out on the light switch. Don't think you'll even be able to see the rad the way I'm hooking things up, but it looks good anyway. Love how the XSPC logo kind of pops through from the right angle.

Waiting for this weekend, then I should be able to get everything finished up!

PS: airdeano, that white wrap looks sweet!

there is an adhesive to apply in the depressions to keep them crisp.
3M Vinyl DiNoc Adhesive Promoter Primer 94 is great for those pesky lifting edges, difficult
compound curves, and pressed logos. apply the adhesive, flash-off 3min, apply wrap, then apply
a lil hair-dryer action and press into depression and allow to cool naturally.

oh and a new X-Acto blade is a must for clean edge cuts.. the lil nicks in the blade tears the material,
so a 10 or 100 pack of X-Acto 11 blades will keep you more sane, than insane.
