I'll swap fans some day airdeano, gotta take a refrain from computer parts though When you get your build done it's gonna look sweet man, keep me updated!
I run a Minecraft server to play with a couple friends every now and then, and play the game on the same computer. Java sucks up a lot of memory running at large resolutions I guess, I would get a lot of errors with 8GB of memory. Also, BF3 seems to use a lot of memory too, with 8GB it would give me errors a lot saying I was running out of memory so I had to make a huge page file. Now I can turn the page file off, no more errors in BF3, and more space on my SSD.
RMAing my motherboard gives me a perfect excuse to edit some other stuff I want to. First off was cutting out the front mesh as a lot of people are doing, since it really restricts airflow and causes a lot of noise.
The tool I'll be using, since I really don't have anything else...
Didn't want to cut everything out, thought something like this would look a little cooler. Gives me the option to cut the whole thing out in the future if I want to though.
Need some suggestions on how to smooth out the rough edges from the cutting, I have a metal file but it was proving to be useless unless I had a couple hours to sit down and file, which I don't. Any quicker alternatives?
Other things on my to-do list are to switch out this awful Primochill tubing, and finally get that AX750 rocking in here!
Thinking of stealth-mounting my drives; the holes in between the 5 1/4 mounts lined up almost perfectly with some holes on the bottom of the HDD, and I could stick the SSD anywhere with a bit of velcro. Whadya think?
Looks good to me, dude.
I just read through the thread, and you've made some really great progress with this rig. What's happened to your motherboard - why the RMA?
My PCI slots were borked, basically it wouldn't recognize stuff on boot most of the time but when it was in the OS it worked great. Still not sure if it was the mobo or the graphics card, but I bricked my BIOS in an attempt to fix it so that was all the more reason to RMA it.
