Messed up pixel ?

I just got a Hyundai 19" widescreen lcd. I have on pixel in the upper left corner that will display blue, red, and black but not green or white. What should i do?

I doubt there is much you can do, most companys have a policy where as they wont replace LCD's unless they have a certain amount of dead pixels, this is ussuauly around 4 to 6. So either create more dead pixels (throwing down stairs ussualy helps :D ) or try getting rid of your current dead pixel. This can be done by massaging around the spot hopefully freeing up the pixel.

Good luck mate.

if you do a quick search on pixel you will find another recent thread about it with a link to a program that can sometimes get the pixel going by rapidly changing colours.

but it can take a couple of days before the pixel works again or 5mins or not at all.

well ill try all that and see what happens. Luckily the screens so big i dont notice the stuck pixel anyways =]

It's a stuck pixel mate, if it were dead it'd be black. I'd try massaging the screen very gently around the spot to see if that alleviates the problem. Did you buy this online or direct? If so, it's always wise to ask the retailer if you can check the screen before it leaves the shop.Best of luck mate, I hope you get it sorted

Rgr that!

I guess that's some consolation mate; as long as you're happy with it and it ain't bothering you.

lol yea i guess.

P.S. I need a dvi cable. Is there really a noticable difference between the cheaper and more expensive ones?

Punch the screen a few times, theres your five pixels ;).

Lol I was seriously thinking about doing that yesterday. But then i thought itd be a pain in the *** to ship back.

 Sorry to bump an old topic but just found a green pixel which is constantly on my screen. I guess this is a stuck pixel as it doesn't change colour and isn't black. I'm gonna try the apps before massaging and such. Anyone got any good ones apart from jfix and udfix?

Thank you!

Try searching for albinoblacksheep RGB in google. Leave it run for a while and then try massaging while its on (dont be scared) but try not to look at haha

Dude that is awesome.

So hypnotising and loving the music. :p

Edit: Looks even better with the lights off. :D

My girlfriends brother has a TV which one day developed a smallish streak of dead pixels (unknown cause - although we think it may be one of the kids). Massaging worked pretty well in places. As said already, don't be scared, they are stronger than you think.

Sid version of Axel-F.

I have a 19" Dell LCD monitor in work with the "screen saver" burnt in the center of it (how is an lcd burnt?). Any form of massaging leaves marks on the lcd cover. >.<

You will need to massage it loads, over several days mate. I had one on my Dawoo and Samsung screens, massage and that RGB thing worked after a few days
