Good to see you dude. Was thinking about you the other day. Hope life's good.
Life is good sir. I just have a new GF who happens to have the "technological touch of death" that's kept me semi-offline. Out of the 3 PCs I had running, one died, and one almost died.
My 2950X X399 Threadripper rig exploded, almost literally, since a capacitor or something popped and left a huge scorch mark on the board and the metal surrounding it. MUCH magic smoke was released. The board is darn near irreplaceable, other than at $1200+ scalper prices. The only good news there is the NVME drives / GPU / memory all survived. The 2950X might be okay too, but I don't have another X399 board to test it in.
Then I started having issues with my main gaming rig, and ended up somehow toasting THREE NVME drives in that thing, a 1TB Corsair, a 2TB Corsair, and a 2TB WD. Out of the 4 drives in that rig, I cannot format 3 of em with the Windows 11 installer. Prior to that, I was having weird issues, where drives would just VANISH for no apparent reason, blue screen loops, etc.
I suspect the machines got jealous that I wasn't using them. Now I refuse to let her near my 3d printers, just in case. She's a sweetie, but the machines DO NOT like her.
