Media PC

I have got a old PC under my desk doing nothing and thought I could use it as a media pc in my living room. I don't use any speakers on the HDTV, Just the built in ones.

The specs(ish) are:

Q6600
ATI 4800
4Gb ram
Abit IP35 Pro Motherboard
500gb HDD
C300 64gb SSD
Antec 900 case

I would need to downsize the case as the 900 is pretty big.

Also would a DVI to HDMI cable work with picture and sound?

A DVI to HDMI adapter would only carry the picture, DVI doesn't carry sound.
You can get some DVI + Audio to HDMI adapters but they aren't particularly cheap Link
I'd recommend if you could just using a separate audio input on your TV, I know on mine I can use HDMI picture and a separate audio input.
Specs are fine for a Media PC btw.
