me again - card advice

Hi!

I will be shortly be building a sckt 939 system, So far Ive decided on Venice 3200, DFI LanParty UT NF4 SLI-D. Im on a tight budget, but have been trying to decide on getting a 6800gt or a 7800gt. The cheapest 7800gt is only about 60 GBP (110 dollars) more than the cheapest 6800gt. So is it worth streching abit more to get the 7800gt?

The 6800gt can run the latest games on full whack no problem, so is the 7800gt worth it? or shall I wait for the 7800GTX to come down in price, and get a 6800gt in the meantime.

I would get the 7800GT as its just a scaled down version of the GTX. It does beat the 6800GT and its architecture and its lower voltage make for a great clocking chip and it'll keep ya safe for a good time to come. There's not much point getting a 6800GT and upgrading later on as you'll lose loads of cash and the perfomance bump won't be that much.

Either way you go - both the 6800GT and the 7800GT are good chips.

go with the 7800 GT it is realy worth the money.

If you have the money for a 7800 GT theres no question, the new cine FX 4.0 technologie and the incredible performance is just cool.

The 68 GT is cool to but its just not realy as good as it was.

Its just as good as it was, just nvidia have made cards that are even better

X800XL's are very nice card's, also...for the money/performance ratio.

i was juts thinking if i am correct a 7800gt and 7800gtx was like the 6800gt and 6800ultra wouldnt you be able to flash the 7800gt to the gtx?
