Could i go higher:? I overclocked my Athlon 64 3200+ and highest spot i did hit was 2.85GHz:B . But it wasen't stable, so i went back to 2.8GHz. I completed CustomPC benchmark with overall score 1.15, as well i was running CPU Burn-in v1.0 (100% load) for six hours with no problems. Temperatures for 2.8GHz under 100% load was: CPU 41C, PWM 42C and chipset 37C. Unfortunately Prime95 was crashing at 1st minute:@ . I tried 2.75GHz but Prime95 crashed after 4 minutes. So finaly i steped back to 2.7GHz and so far seems like it's working fine.:)

FSB 270MHZ multiplier x10.0

Voltage: CPU 1.66V, DRAM 2.67V, NB 1.64V (according the Smartguardian)

I didn't change any others setings (rest of setings is default).

Is there any way to do some fine tuning to get my PC stable at 2.8GHz or even higher?;)

Or even make my memory run faster:)

It's my 1st PC ever i'm overclocking, so any advice would be much appreciate.

My rig:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice core E6

1GB (2x512) Corsair XMS4400C25 (a.k.a. TwinX 1024-4400C25) 2.5-4-4-8

DFI LanParty UT NF4 SLi-DR Expert

Gigabyte G-Power Pro-cooler

Enermax Noisetaker 600W (EG701AX-VE(W))-PSU

Sparkle GeForce 6800 GS

THANK YOU FOR ADVICE!:D

you could probably tweak your ram a little? there are guides around, do a search for overcloking on this forum. Good luck!

Your system seems top spec - I only quite recently swapped to AMD for a play with the SLI-DR, which was excellent but with a X2 4800 X2 - so if you've got the budget perhaps an upgrade to an X2 would be nice :)

I hear that the 3800's seem to clock very well - so seem to be good bang for buck/ pound ;)

You see, this is the 1st system ever i built, so i decided to buy some cheaper CPU to see how things go:D. I read before that 3200+ with Venice core is good overclocker, so i decided to try it. And at the end of day i got out from it 2.8 GHZ with air, i think it's not bad at all for 1st time:B :p

That's a nice clock and system, especially for a first timer :)

I doubt you'll get much more out of it on air, I know that the Opterons can do around 3GHz on air so that's another option if you're looking for even more performance? The next just would be the dual cores as I mentioned before. Although saying this, the only reason I can think you'd want to change the CPU would be to either show off with benchies, or for encoding!

Yes, i think as well, i won't be able to go any higher, but at the moment i'll stick with this one, but no doubt i'll try some dual core CPU in future and water cooling as well:p .

Best thing i ever did, forget water go ice,im sure phil will help empty your pockets:D .

I have the same board as you running my X2 4800@3GHz -20c,ive seen the X2 3800 do 3ghz also.

I'm still on AIR :D.

And who is Phil? Somebody from EP-UK?

Phil is the owner of EP-UK great guy ring him and have a chat about yer needs I am sure he can help you oot:D

sell your cpu on here or ebay. do a little stepping reserch and buy a more overclockable cpu. opteron 146 and 148 can be good clockers if you can find a golden stepping. this would probably be the cheapest way of more mhz.

I'll sell not only CPU, but whole my rig :D , because i'm planing to build new one, besed on water coooling (TEC probably) and will go for something like FX-57 or FX-60. Anyway, i'll do some investigation 1st and will let know about it later on.

If i'll be able to sort out my finance then new rig gonna be MASSIVE :B :D .

But so far, Thanks Everybody ;) .
