Asus Sabertooth X58 Socket 1366 8 Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard

Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz Socket 1366 8MB - Overclocked to (4.138 Ghz) http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1812058

12 GB G-Skill DDR3 2133Mhz RipjawsX Memory Kit CL9 (9-11-9-28-2N) 1.6V

Heat Killer CPU WC Block Upgraded to 1366 fittings

2 x 120mm Rad

Pump + Res XSPC

4 x 1.5TB Samsung f1's now in raid stripe and mirror

2 x Mushkin 60Gb Ssd's (raid strip) Weekley backups and restore via Auto Ghost (this keeps the speed and takes only 7 min)

need a new case, the Sabertooth is in no way water cooling frendly and needs fans to cool down the chip set. Ill figure out a way of doing this some time.

Hd speed is mental

- Had to put on the normal side pannel for the case so that i could have 2 x 120mm fans blowing on the chip set to cool it down.

Takes 5.2 seconds to boot into windows from cold bioot "After" raid array have passed. Every thing flys real fast and open before you can blink.

By using ghost to back up the SSD raid to the Samsung F1's then move it back again keeps the SSD's in top form and negates this problem with trim. Since it takes less than 7 min to do its a very small price to pay for the speed im getting.plus the fact i dont listen to any one and do things my way

Now that is pretty slick,

Will have to look at this,

well as far as the chipset goes I have found 2 ways to cool it.

#1 40mm Fan mounted directly to the heatsink.

#2 Liquid cooling.

Looks good Mayhem, i'd get some black SATA cables to try and hide them a bit more though but if you are happy with it it's all good.

Wish I had one like that, very nice! Mine takes several Minutes to boot up.

I was curious, what are those tubes cooling that are going in and out the Mobo between Graphics card and the radiator at top?

@ ShortAlieN - Ive now got upto 4.4 Ghz how ever im having to use a 120mm fan to cool the chips et. as for the water cooling were did them blocks come from

.

@ Game Over - the rad is in the top of the case the Res+pump at the bottem so the tubes come from top to bottom to cool the cpu.

@ SieB The side pannel is on the case with no window , so not to fussed about looks.

you wont see me doing that this is just another pc in the long line of ones ive nocked up mate and to be honist im not that impressed with it. the Mother bord to be honist is rubbish esp with this over heating on the northbridge.

Thats normal for X58 you n00b, its not overheating they just run hot.

They are blocks that I got from Koolance. they have high flow and look quite nice. keeps the NB at a cool 40 C

Koolance water blocks

Have to get 2 blocks, one for the NB & one for the vreg. just dont waste your money on the heat plate they try to sell with the vreg block.

yeah the NB is a cooker, but not too bad to deal with. I actually quite like the Sabertooth x58 board. If I could overclock worth a damn I might be able to push this poor lil 920 past 4.5ghz. It is a cooker though.

yeh im stable at 4.5 Ghz now had it up to 4.6 but like you say i could have fried a chicken on the thing so until i get that sorted with a bit more water cooling gear ill hold back a bit.

this case it a bit shit as well so im going to look for a decent one or might get stephs off him once i have enough funds.

small update 460's added

still need to change over the liquids to my white liquids ill do that tomorrow.

Evey hard drive pay is filled up with some thing and there is no room laft at all inside the case. Had to put back on the old normal case side and remove the window one as it had no fans on and this is need to cool down the over clocked beast.

Still not happy with it but no funds left as they have been re diverted else ware.

Currently ruining at 4.8 Ghz over clock stable how ever you could cook a egg on the vrms when the side panel is off.
