Maximus X Hero + 8700k Performance issues!

Hello guys!
So i finally finished up my build yesterday and i can simply not get the thing to perform.

Build in Tom's image, its rocking:
i7 8700k OC'ed to 5.1Ghz
Rog Maximus X Hero
4x4gb G.Skill 3688mhz
Strix 1080Ti OC 11gb
Samsung 960 Pro 500gb
Rog 27" PG279Q 144Mhz Gsync

Issues: Low performance in GTA V, AC:O, CoD:WW2 and Superposition Benchmark
My old rig with a i7 4700, same gtx,
had a Superposition Benchmark score around 9500 on 4K extreme.
With my new rig, i can barely get it up to 9000.
I've updated all drivers, chipset, bios, gtx ect ect.
I've tried to debunk the system and running default settings with no OC.
I've also tried running without raiser cable on the gpu.
Airflow and temps are stabil around 60/70c on both CPU and GPU.

A little side issue:
On my old rig, i could run windows and games on 4k res on my 1440p monitor, with beautiful graphics.
On my new rig, with updated drivers, i no longer have that option.
I've tried to reroll some drivers, with no effect.
The option is simply not there anymore.

If any of you have any ideas on whats holding back my system from performing,
please lend a mate a hand.

Probably need to reinstall Windows. Changing an entire system and using the same OS is bound to cause issues.

you could try reinstalling windows. moving to another platform may cause issues.

If you have just built it and installed Windows then give it a couple of days. For the first day at least it will be downloading updates and hammering performance. Give it a couple of days to settle, then if it's no better download the very latest build and reinstall as the chaps suggest.

I wouldn't reinstall, I would Reset the PC. Less of a hassle and fewer updates to download afterwards, but fixes possible lingering driver issues which is the reason behind reinstalling.

Reset doesn't always work

If youre having issues, try the GPU plugged directly into the board incase youve got a crappy riser cable


After that try running two sticks of memory with them set to 3200MHz - your memory may need some manual tweaks and could be crapping itself trying to run 4 sticks that fast
