boys where stuck, for some reason I keep having a really bad feeling that the hawks wont both fit on the gene

:(. if thats the case then should I downgrade to the rampage 2 extreme, tbh I really want the rampage 3 formula but I have no idea when thats coming out. plus the rampage 3 extreme is $200 more but its the full size atx board.

The hawk is a dual slot cooler right? Then you should be fine. In my Asrock theyre right on top of eachother yet I have no temp issues at all. Any I would have are well taken care of by Afterburner any way.

yer but is ur asrock a matx board

That's completely irrelevant dude. Look at this pic.

Right, now chop off the motherboard below the Radeons. Your cards (MSI) are dual slot cards. They will be as close together as my Radeons in the pic, because the slot layout is the same. You just won't have the extra real estate at the bottom and the cards will be snuggled up together. But, as I said, that's not a problem because the 460s are cool customers and Afterburner can keep the temps in check with an auto fan profile

Tell it what temps you want the card at, the fan speed it needs to make them stay at those temps and Bob's your auntie's live in lover, job done.

hmm im now wondering how i can connect my receiver to the pc. hmmm you guy dont think i would be sacrificing to much if i went for the older rampage 2?

Look at the PCIE config. If it is dual 8X (and I think they both are) then you are not sacrificing much of anything.

What sort of reciever are you talking about? Infra red? hifi?

Onboard is more than good enough. I've not used a stand alone card since that awful Asus Xonar D2X.

Edit. Infact dude, you need to realise that by going MATX something is going to have to give. You just will not find a small board like that with the same featureset as an ATX board.

hmmmm thats why im really considering go for the rampage 2 extreme but i dont want to lose many features,i dont think im gonna need usb3 or sata 6 ? correct me guys if im wrong

USB 3 no idea at all. Sata 6? still very much in infancy. Sacrificing it for an SSD would work out better IMO. But Tom will deffo know best on that front.
