Making of MK3, lots of pics

I've finally plucked up enough courage to try my hand at a Vmod to stabalize the Vcore on my mobo (Asus P4C800-E Deluxe)...setting the variable resistor to 28K Ohms...

I've tried something different on the back of my mobo, a thin layer of seal string...

I used seal string around the CPU socket and dielectric grease inside it...

The system is rock stable now at 4.11 Ghz. Under load the Vcore only decreases by 0.04 V. I was just folding, running prime 95 and playing Call of Duty, United offensive, all at the same time, no probs :eek:

Nicely done,just be careful when removing sealstring from back of mobo or you may rip small components off and maybe take the tracks up too and destroy your mobo.When i removed the sealstring insulation from my x800 i pulled 5/6 little components off.It can happen,be careful.

Cheers Standin Wave, but how did you know? I was keeping it a secret. The issue's not out yet is it? Well I can't take all the credit for myself, I took alot of advice and ideas from you guys here, thanks.

... but I'm sure keeping all those lovely prizes to myself though :D :D :D

Yeah, subscription copies are usually about 3-4 days early - the missus had just left mine in a heap with a load of junk mail! I hadn't spotted you won ALL those prizes! Well done m8 - I don't think Daz would win " owt " with his Raptor hanging there like knickers on a washing line!!

I got bored of the black rubber stops in my case feet so I replaced them with these...

I got them made at a plastic specialist. Then I did a bit of case light rewiring...

Cheers Firelord, I also added some lighted lcd temp monitors...

sidetemps.jpg

Orange=Compressor temps (reaches 70 c which is the limit of these sensors after which they display the letter H)

Green=Water temps on the GPU

Red=OCZ ram booster temp (This thing gets HOT! so I put a small fan on it)

Heres a little (7.8Mb) movie of the system whilst running;
