MAJOR Problem :(

Ok guys I have a major problem. Today, I installed my new burner and fixed some cables/cleaned dust. So when I reconnected everything and fired my computer up, it wouldnt boot into windows. After disconnecting the burner and doing all these weird configurations, I got it to boot into Windows. The problem is, even though I'm in Windows, it will always reboot itself as soon as I get onto my desktop. I tried doing a Win XP repair installation but I always get two BSODS that are like the following:

Something like:

Page fault in non pages area

and

IRQL not less or equal

I'm currently running a WD HD diagnostic, and will run memtest tonight. Do you guys think there is a solution that will end without v a d e R`'s dad spending $$?

Thanks.

Btw, safemode and all other boot options all don't work.

(XP Media Center 2005)

Is it IDE? I'm guessing you just connected it where you had before? Do IDE burners have jumpers? (I honestly can't remamber)

I had a similar but less serious problem when i plugged the DVD burner from this Dell into my main rig. Wouldnt boot at all

let us know how the memtest goes, sounds like memory errors to me

Yep, page fault is the key.

Run the test first, but chancers are that perhaps u knocked em and they`ve unseated or something.

Well I ran mem test and I did get some errors. The harddrive came back clean without errors, I've removed two sticks and I can boot into windows now. I'm going to try putting one of the sticks back and booting back in.

Thanks for helping.

Meh u could try easing down the pressure on them, it might be that the temps in u`r room are seasonally increasing and it`s effecting them a bit - pfffft long shot.

Well, everything works again. I took out 2 sticks of ram and repaired windows, some dlls were missing, reinstalled .NET framework and everything was good. Then I popped the 2 other sticks of ram in and everything is running smooth as butter :D

Tbh, don't know what the problem is...don't care as long as it works :D

Thanks for your suggestions.
