Finally got the Mach II installed been playing HL2, it has been shutting its self off but i thought this was due to overclocking the cpu too much , when I say shut off i mean instant everything just goes off. One thing i can say is It has never locked up

Anyway i turn the mach unit on runs for a min or so then shuts off .. dont forget this is the ST version and the usb port doesnt work either

Has it been running OK till now?

Make sure that the head has a good contact with the CPU. I would take it off and remount it again.

i have an st, sorry dont mean to be offering the stupid answers if they are, but obvious things are the connection from the prommy to the mobo, the PSU to the mobo (in the manual it recomended reseating the PSU to mobo lead for cirtain things). Have you checked the voltage yuor PSU is putting out underload, and monitoring temps.

My guess and really it is a guess would be the seating of the head, and yuor PSU or at least i'd check that.

Also if yuor running alot of gear and somthing like a 6800 deffinetly check the rails under load. I always use mother board monitor a fine little bit of software served me very well over the years.

good luck.

lol and also do the obvious checks i just remebered fixing a mates PC similar symptoms though his was a normal none prommied PC it was the ram that caused it. so doing all the usual checks might help.

also dood you cant update the firmware by getting a audio cable and pluggin it in to the controler board (were the normal usb one goes) and then to the usb header on the mobo this has worked for most people .
