can some1 help please.

just bought a mach 2 GT

still got my old mach 2.

the new gt dont overclock as good as my old mach 2.

can some 1 here help please.

the sticker on the compressor says r134 on the gt

on the standard mach 2 it also says r134

so whats the diffrence about these 2 machines.

wish i had stuck with my old mach 2,got better overclocking results with it.

Hi there mate,

The GT is a regassed r134a compressor, hence the r134a sticker.. It uses the same compressor for a number of reasons - primarily to keep the noise to a minimum and also for practicality. A new compressor would have added to the cost and would have been larger than the danfoss one we have at the moment - It would have also added to the noise significantly. What nVENTIV have done is stuck with a winning design and added extra refinements. In my honest opinion they have done a good job. The unit certainly has more cooling potential than the stock Mach II. Have you noticed it also reaches boot temperature a lot quicker?

The problems you are experiencing maybe down to a number of things - at a guess, I would say your contact is not as good as it was before. Can you check this? It could also be down to your components. The GT certainly is a more powerful unit than your Mach II there is no denying this, so your bad clocks are related to some other problem.

couldnt it be possible that he has a faulty gt?

what do the two units reach temp wise without the freezer head attached?

I am pretty sure its NOT the GT unit mate

what evap temps you got with the GT and the Mach 2? at the same cpu with the same clock and voltage-board?

i am sure lower with your GT...

as phil said check if your contact is any good...

i am sure theres something wrong with your setup and NOT with the GT...i cant believe your GT is faulty in any way...

let us know mate :)

+chill out ;)

No way, if it was a faulty unit it would not reach boot temp, or he would receive error messages on the LCD. There is another problem here and I'm pretty sure it will be contact related - or perhaps he's borked his chip by sticking too many volts through it, or his memory has gone up in smoke, or.. the list goes on, but it definitely isnt the unit. You can see my point.

NO !! It's too blinkin good :- 4.86 GHz. You've obviously got the fastest machine in West Yorkshire - at the moment :D

sw

If I add up the clock speeds of all my workin PCs it doesn't reach 4.86 GHz :o

sorry 4.086 ghz. ;)

the fastest i have ever had it

to run 3d mark 2001 se is 4.288 mhz

not bad under normal mach 2.

hopefully i can get this sorted and get even higher.

Thank god for that. 4.86ghz would be stunning!! lol..

I have to say, 4.086 isnt great for your EE, but.. these chips give off a LOT of heat - probably 10 degrees more than the Northwood which obviously effect clocks. There must be some extra settings you need to configure - what sort of volts are you using with that?

the thing is i could bench test the BTO programe 4.1 ghz at 1.75 v ok

now i cant even complete the test over 4ghz even when i up the volts.

i could do 3d mark at 4249 mhz at 1.825 volts

cant even boot over 4.1. might look at the contacts today.

overclocking at 4.1 ghz temps on prommie show -62 motherboard monitor it shows -18 is this right. thx 4 your time in this matter. ps phill should have bought my gt from u. sorry.

ah interesting mate, you must have got it from chill?

It would appear to be bad contact causing all this mate - or condensation? Both are possibilities.

i got it from tekheads .when i got home no lcd.

phoned them and they said u dont get 1.

i said you did and he phoned back later to say yes i was right.

had to travel 90 miles there and back to get my lcd.

not happy.

def sounds like bad contact, wen i was getting crud contact i stripped it down adn moved the seal string to the very outside of the head, also i put two extra washers on each of the head fasterning screws, i then bolted it all back on and tightened the screws RIGHT up without cross threading them ofc
