Lost Internet access

I though I'd make some room for my new Z680s by putting my main PC under the desk. I videoed (saddo) the wiring between the PC, cable modem, router and messed about with wiring for hours only to find that the Linksys router seems to not allow Internet access now - I have to RJ45 from Cable modem to my PC. Any ideas or questions?

Cheers

Yep try resetting router to factory defaults and try again..

Another thing switch modem off switch router off and then switch modem on and let boot. Once booted boot the router. :) works on my NTL modem and router when it occasionally drops

I have had this problem before when I have messed about and it seems that the router has 1 IP and the cable modem wants to use another coz the one you had has been reused...

Its all working now. Though I videoed the present wiring, the cable to the modem should have gone into the internet socket, not one of the others :o I don't understand how it all worked in the first place! I used USB memory stick to set up the network - really easy to do! I'll get latest firmware though and install (after reading any posts on the Linksys website about any probs first!) which is generally good advice

Thanx guys for help

Interesting I have constant issues with my wireless network kicking me off. I have no ideas what is causing it, although it was never a problem with my Intel setup, its only since I've installed an AMD rig that these problems occur. I can guarantee if I setup an Intel rig next to it, it will be perfectly fine.
