Looking for advice on my new build

So last week I paid the last payment for my old pc (10 months old) which I ruined like three weeks ago by accidently spilling some tea on my case and all it's left now is just a box of scraps(crap?). Well that's why Im looking forward to build a new pc and order it.

So let's start:

CASE: Corsair Carbide 500r
MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance Blue DDR3
GPU: 2GB Gigabyte GTX 660 Ti OC Windforce 2X
PSU: 750W Corsair Enthusiast Series CMPSU-750TXV2
HDD: 1TB Seagate ST31000524AS Barracuda 7200.12, SATA 6Gb/s, 7200rpm, 32MB Cache, 8.5ms, NCQ
COOLING: Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H60

Current price is 960£(price also includes basic cd-rom) ordering everything from scan.co.uk and my budget would be 1100£ maximum. So any advice hwo could I improve my build ? I'd also like some few extra fans with white leds or something to match the stock ones from Carbide 500r. Would like to by everything from the same place as Im planning to take it on finance again probably.

Thanks in advance,
Rogelius

are all of your old components broken?
what is the build going to be used for?
don't get an h60 go for an h100 or air cooler
i have heard a lot of good things about the msi z77 boards so perhaps consider one of those.

Yeah all the components are pretty much broken. PC will be used for gaming mainly. H100 is only availabe for pre-order so I rather choose something else.

Go for an MSI Z77A G45

A 3570k will be fine for gaming

I really wouldn't recommend a 660 ti, the 7950 is about the same price and better

I would recommend Western digital over seagate, Maybe the 1tb Caviar Green?

And finally where is the ssd?

Does SSD gives some huge advantages ? Well 3770k would be more future-proof right ? Because Im not planning on buying new systems after this one anytime soon.

ssd is a lot faster so you get faster game loads faster boot times and just overall system speed. because your not doing any video rendering etc. you dont need hyperthreading which is really the only diffrence between the 3770k and the 3570k so you wont be much more future proof with a 3770k.

Saved money in various places:

CPU - the i7 has no advantage over the i5 for gaming.

Got a better cooler (the only decent corsair watercooler is the H100 for the price).

Got an excellent and spacious SSD.

Much better GPU.

You ruined an entire system with one cup of tea? Nothing's salvageable?

Anyway, I don't think that a 3770k will do much to futureproof a gaming rig. A 3570k will do just as well for 3-4 years imo, and it'll save you a good chunk of cash.

H60 is overpriced junk. Get an air cooler instead. The NH-D14 or Silver Arrow will both fit in the 500R.

And I agree with seumas - the 7950 is a better choice than the 660ti.

EDIT:
Thumbs up to M&P's build above.

Not seen a part list on ebuyer for a long time...

You're better going with 1.5v RAM for Ivy. It can damage the memory controller in the long run afaik.

Also - is that D14 just the 2011 version?

My uncle did something similar - the tea slipped right through the fan mesh at the top of his case.
Tea dripped down onto his GPU and fried that directly, whilst the tea which dripped down into his PSU (he mounts it like Tom prefers) fried everything else.

A dangerous commodity, is tea.

wrong D-14. you have the socket 2011 one....

Well I spilled the tea thourgh the top of the case so it directly went on GPU, PSU below so RAM's and MOBO is definately dead too. Old cpu was i7 2600k, but the guy at local computer repairs store was refusing to test cpu because he might fry his system too and I would need to pay for it.

So my system should look like this after your advices:

Fry his system? Would a bad chip really fry a system? I find that hard to believe. Personally, I'd be inclined to test the 2600k before spending a few hundred to buy another one.
