Little devil Build

I was bored over christmas so put a 2500k, a 6870 and a temp psu in this just to get it up and running.

Its really messy, but it will start to come along soon when I pick up my psu that has just been delivered to komplett in Ireland so just have to pick it up

and when sr-3's start to become available

, hating the wait for this

.

I have it running at 4.6ghz stable with temps maxing in there 50's with very low rpm fans. I'm really happy with that especially with 16gb ram at 1700mhz so dont think will overclock it more (hope i can get the same from this cpu when I put it in my htpc and have it on air).

The ram will be changed to either white or black lp vengence ram just not sure which yet depending on what way. (Would anyone any ideas which would look best?).

I'm not sure whether to sell this ram or replace the 4gb mushkin in my htpc with it but think it would be wasted in such a machine.

I was bored so redid my other machines that are in my room also. The 690II will be watercooled soon also but wont be overclocked as its mainly a workstation. It will used as a gaming rig only when having lan games with mates so probably only once a week/forthnight.

With the server I know its an odd way to put the res but it works fine and keeps the air out while allowing enough flow and allows the fill port to be used as a drain port also so will leave it like that until I replace it with a drive bay one.

I am slowly getting around to fixing this machine up. I wont be upgrading it until i'm fully happy with the watercooling. I now have 2 rx360 rads in the bottom with push fans on one pull on the other. I have not set up the second rad yet bar putting it in place. I will need my gpu's first. I was going to wait for an sr3 but I am thinking of just putting a sbe board in it instead. I will start the second loop probably at the end of the month.

The clear tube can be ignored, it will be replaced as soon as more tygon black tubing is in stock

This will be going in the top with push pull config also. I'm using this as it has connections on both ends which would help make a much tidier loop.

Nice, i'm liking that FrozenQ res, I wish they weren't so expensive though

Yea they are really good, cant wait until the loop is finalised and get to put in some red aurora as flowing down and around will loop awesome

Just a short update. I replaced the ram with some gskill red ram. I will put the other two sticks in once finish testing. Think I will have to build another pc though to make use of the spare ram and z68 board I have now.

I have also ordered an ax1200, 480mm rad 8 coolermaster red fans, bay res and another d5 pump and more bits power fittings. I got clear tubing for the second loop and will use aurora liquid in it I think.

At the end of march/april I will be getting two hd7970s with waterblocks for the second loop. I am still undecided whether to wait for an sr-3 or just get a rampage iv extreme instead and just use it for only gaming then.

I made a few alterations to the rig I put the hd6970 back into it. This will be changed for 2 hd7970's when closer to completion. I added a 480mm rad to the top and will show the 2 rx360 rads side by side.

I bought a silverstone st 1500watt psu so have cancelled the order on the ax1200. I will try braid all the wires on this psu for a better finish.

I got a quote of 60 euro for the whole case to be powder coated black so I might do this also

.

Everything needs a bit of a clean after my grubby hands touching everything so I will give everything a proper clean and will clear out the rads.

A Silverstone st1500 watt powersupply fitted, cables are the perfect length for the little devil. I will try braid the cables soon

I just did a little tidying to the rig, not much done this weekend. I just got resistors to make it silent (such an improvement with the lower noise they are near silent and no increase in temps
smile.gif
.

I sorted the cabling as best as I could before I get the braiding kit. I also put it up on the desk as without filters one the rads it was a dust magnet.

I'm not sure on wheter to do a clear tubing loop for the gpu's/motherboard or have white tubing, then have another similar res beside it and having it flowing the opposite direction with the silver aurura and the red in the other loop? Would anyone have any better suggestions?

Thanks for the replies guys

. I use eyefinity on the main rig for gaming but the apple screen is for web design and other work stuff which is attached to the cm690II pc. I was planning on keeping it like that but i'm going to put another 28" screen for the gaming rig and put the 24" screen above it.

I put into the rig an 8150, a change some people might think was dumb but I said feck it I might as well give it a go
smile.gif
.

I just put a gtx560ti in there for the moment so can play bf3 with decent framerates on at least one screen.

I'm still waiting on my job to get me access to 7970's.

Reason I'm waiting is when they get me stuff get them for half price
wink.gif
.

Will give it a month and if dont have them by then will pick up one then get them to get me the other two when they finally can

.

Finally got the connection to set up my watercooling on the 8150.

I have it running cool and quiet at 5ghz with all cores enabled. I will try for higher soon.

I think it looks much better now with the crosshair board than it did with the sabertooth in it. First pic is of when sandybridge was in it.

Just a small update again. I added one of the 7970's I planned on getting. I will order the waterblock if specialtech ever gets the crosshair v acetel copper block in so can order them and a few other bits together. I'm not sure if the 8150 is going to bottleneck the two cards though. Its overclocked to 5ghz and they will hopefully be on 16x lanes.

I've also finally added the 3rd 28" screen for proper eyefinity (will put it all on a 3 screen bracket which is why I havent replaced the left stand yet) My 24" screen will go above them for webpages such as origins etc.

Edit:

I just taught I would add a pic of it in use (colour difference is, I set the outside monitors to warm setting so they draw less of my attention)

I finally got to do a bit of work on this computer. I had been putting it off as the sr-x was so poor. I now have an intel motherboard ready to go in it, just need the cpu.
So far I've added some bits power fittings, an ek drive bay res, a 4th 28" screen, an aerocool fan controller, a 128gb samsung ssd and a few other bits.
My order was messed up so I didnt get all the fittings I wanted so you can see I had to use other fittings below on the pump.
I was mostly distracted by building the machines below, now they are finished, I just have two more machines to build and I can fully get back to building this one.
